I'm in my late 40's and need to lose about 38 pounds. I have a chronic pain problem that makes losing weight difficult. But, it's very important to me to get fit because I want to be around to enjoy my family for a long time. I would like to live to be very old, but only if I'm healthy enough to enjoy it. I live on a farm/ranch and enjoy riding horses, looking after cattle, planting flowers, and spending time with my wonderful husband and family.

My Goals:
My goal is to lose 38 pounds by September 1st. We are going on a trip and I would like to look good and feel better. Most important, I want to feel good physically, and feel good about myself mentally.

My Program:
I am reading Geneen Roth's books and trying to learn how to manage my emotional eating. I'm not dieting, but trying to learn to feed my body the things it really needs and not just eat to stuff my feelings down or comfort myself in times of stress. I am currently doing Zumba twice a day, 6 days per week. I would eventually like to become a certified Zumba instructor and be able to do what I love while reaching out to others who are struggling.

Personal Information:
I'm 47 years old and live in the country. There is a very small town about 5 miles from my home. For the most part, I am pretty content to just do things around the farm. I'm not as social as I would like to be, but growing up 50 miles from the nearest town and not even having a phone until I was a teenager makes it difficult for me to be comfortable around people.

    Welcome to Sparks :) I just joined again last night:) was a member a few years back and lost 50 pounds, however, put on a few pounds over the last year. It's onward, forward for me :) Your page is very encouraging :) I'm finding that the accountability here is huge!!! I remember the great support and am looking forward to it as well as hopefully giving it :) Thanks again for sharing. Looks like we are right about the same weight and close to the same goal.
