Seven years ago I began my journey on SP. I had tremendous results; watched my weight drop below 200, completed a marathon. I was diagnosed with Compartment Syndrome in 2010, but did not give up and in 2011 ran and walked every day for at least 30 minutes, totaling over 1,500 miles.

A job change and move to Huntsville, AL in 2012 sidetracked my progress. I had started the year strong with plans for a same day summit of Mt. Whitney in August, but weeks before my trip I had to cancel due to work. And I lost motivation.

2013 saw my lowest mileage total and activity since 2006 and of course the dreaded weight creep. Maybe explosion would be the better term.

So my goal is 2014 is to rededicate myself to improving my health through proper nutrition and exercise. For me, movement is good. I need to bring back my marathon mantra, "relentless forward motion".

It won't be easy, and I'm going to have to avoid ramping up to quickly as my legs can be excruciating when pushed beyond what they can handle. My goals this year will simple, run a 5K, 10K and Half Marathon with my beautiful wife, Gerri. She continues to be me rock and inspiration.

    Hey Jeff! It's so great to hear from you! I've been wondering if you were still running... Lord, it can be be so hard keeping it up while working, etc. I've struggled a lot in the past 2 years and have settled for doing what I can when I can. Erratic best describes my training these days, but I'm still trying.

    I look forward to seeing you on the boards! If time doesn't permit, I hope you and Geri are out there running and are injury free!

    Jeff - thanks for your comment on my 5K blog. C25K is easier the second time around. Check out the team "slow and steady". It's a smaller group and we chat daily. How is Gerri??

    Jeff, saw your comment on Julies page, and just had to drop in to say hi!

    Glad to hear you and Gerri are doing well, sorry about your leg, hopefully it is something that can be fixed. Check in with Lori-Lu , formerly chalkhog. She had to stop running!
