Fall seven times, get up eight...

Well, I've lost 50 pounds, but have gain a couple back. I'm back to tracking on WeightWatchers and just signed up for the premium membership here. I've loved SparkPeople for years and think the price is very reasonable. So anyway, The plateau may have broken... hallelujah! I was reading the "65 Motivational Mantras" and found one I really like: "Today, I will exercise". There's a magnet on my desk given to me by a friend. It reads, "Proceed as if success is inevitable". Even Master Teacher Jesus taught that.

One day at a time.. sometimes one breath at a time, I will continue towards my goal.

    Hello and welcome to,

I'm pretty new at this myself, but wanted to let you know that it's o.k. to just jump right in and play. It's how I have been learning my way around. So far I have encountered only splendid, encouraging and helpful people. Stop by and say hello. I hope you try isometric exercise, it's perfect for older adults, those with mobility issues, if you have chronic pain, or tire easily. Or if you are at the top of your game, isometrics can give the added gem to make you the winner! See my page/blog, and team is here:

Welcome to NJ Sparkers! I worry about heart health now that I am more apple than pear shaped and there is a history of heart disease on both sides of my family. We can do it! Good luck,

Hi and welcome to SparkPeople and our 50+ Members, High Blood Pressure and Cholesterol Support Teams where you will receive lots of support and encouragement from everyone. Just post any prayer requests, questions, comments or suggestions you may have and someone will respond quickly.
You have come to the right place. Take advantage of what Spark has to offer. I want to see you accomplish your goals. Stay focused and keep a positive attitude as this will be a great help to you in your daily life!!! Smile although sometimes that is the hardest, but it really helps!!! And, if nothing else, it makes people wonder what you're up to.
Remember to just take one day at a time on this journey of a lifetime. This journey consists of many small steps, a few speed bumps and pot holes, and a lot of fun. I will be here for you and try to help you on this journey to your goals. YOU can do this!!! Together we can do this!!!
Watch your portion control. Be sure to drink plenty of water (8 - 8oz glasses a day) and walk. Water and walking will help you on this journey of weight loss and lowering numbers. Start small if that is all you can do or have time to do and add to it as you are able. Even 5-10 minutes several times a day adds up to bigger numbers and will keep you moving. Invest in a good pedometer (about $10) and see how many steps you currently take each day. Before long you will be adding steps just to see how many you can do and how far you can go. WHAT A GREAT MOTIVATOR!!! YOU can do this!!! It's good to meet and have you with us.
God bless you on your journey to a new beginning. Take each day as it comes and enjoy it to the fullest!!!
    God's blessings to you.

"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift – thus call the Present."

"If you planted hope in a heart today in any hopeless heart,
If someone's burden was lighter because you did your part,
If you caused a laugh that chased a tear away,
If tonight your name is mentioned when someone kneels to pray,
Then your day was well spent."
