and I am forever on a diet!

I joined sparkpeople a year and a half ago, right before I decided to start Medifast. I am very happy that I went on this diet plan because I did lose over 40lbs. It was a great plan but as I have recently figured out, a diet plan only works once for me. I don't want to be on a diet, I just want to eat healthy. And if I want to go wine tasting for my birthday this weekend, I want to be able to do it without feeling guilty, going off my "diet", and then just going back to old habits. So that is why I am back to sparkpeople. I just want to log my weight, my food, and be able to chat on the message boards with other people wanting to do the same thing. I don't want to be blasted for not being "on plan" and having a beer or glass of wine every now and then.

I am soon to be 26 (Sunday) and I teach 2nd grade in VA. I love my job, but it is stressful. I tend to eat very well at school because I just don't have time for more than a breakfast bar, some fruit and small snacks like Special K cracker chips. My husband and I have an almost 3 year old and we just moved to VA 3 months ago. We are eating healthy dinners, usually forgoing the carbohydrate and just having protein and vegetables. My goal is to lose 29lbs and be down to 150lbs. My lowest adult weight was 169 when I worked 18 hour days as a restaurant manager living on chex mix and water (not good). I want a healthy BMI and I can honestly say that 150 is a great goal for me. Sparkpeople gave me a goal weight of 146, but the one forties scared me...and I want to take this slow. I need to get back into working out and walking, even if it's only for 30 minutes 3-4 times a week. I want to run! My husband's whole family runs and I want to be able to sign up for 5k, 10k and beyond some day.

No specific diet, just choosing lower calorie foods, eating smaller portions and eating more filling foods. Eating more fruits and vegetables and staying away from carbohydrates in the evening.

    Wow! Congrats on the baby. You look fantastic! Good luck with your weight loss. I found that breast feeding (actually, I pumped exclusively due to latching issues) took off all of my baby weight PLUS an extra 10 pounds. Of course, once I stopped pumping, the weight came back plus 4 pounds, but I still wasn't complaining. I did finally decide that I wasn't the size I wanted to be, however, hence my recent weight loss. Feel free to ask baby questions if you have any (mine is 14 months now). Good luck to you! emoticon
