Food for Thought: The starting point of all achievement is desire. Keep this constantly in mind. Strengthen Your Desire! Weak desires bring weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat.

What are stumbling blocks and defeat before you, can be stepping stones to victory if you remain determined.

"If we defend our habits, we have no intentions of quitting them."

"When one approach is not working to reach the desired goal, that's not a reason to abandon the goal. Instead, it is time to devise another approach."------Ralph Marston

"Progress has little to do with speed but much to do with direction."

"Strength is the capacity to break a chocolate bar into four pieces with your bare hands--and then eat just one of the pieces." (J. Viorst)

My Goals:
2012 Fall 5% Challenge Goals:

Planning on losing 5% at least in the 8 weeks of the Challenge.

I plan to stay in my calorie range 1200-1550 every day.

In preperation for the challenge I am hooking up the Wii to the tv in the living room, making sure the workout dvds are handy and clearing out space to make sure the treadmill is usable and not a clothes hanger :)

Since I have not been working out in quite some time I will be starting out with 20 minute workouts.

I will not follow a specific diet, I will just eat healthy foods that fit within my calorie range for the day.

I will also be active on my team for the challenge. I will record my exercise and Live the Good Life points. I will weigh in weekly and make sure to connect with all my Spark friends regularly. :)

My Program:
~Stay within my calorie range for the day~

~drink 8 glasses of water a day~

~get in cardio as much as possible adding time to workouts each week~

~do not eat late or eat out of boredom~

~Get plenty of sleep~

~work on my time management~

“The whole idea of motivation is a trap. Forget motivation. Just do it. Exercise, lose weight, test your blood sugar, or whatever. Do it without motivation. And then, guess what? After you start doing the thing, that's when the motivation comes and makes it easy for you to keep on doing it.”
    -John C. Maxwell

"The common conception is that motivation leads to action, but the reverse is true....action precedes motivation. You have to "prime the pump" and get the juice flowing, which motivates you to work on your goals. Getting momentum going is the most difficult part of the job, and often taking the first step is enough to prompt you to make the best of your day."
    -Robert McKain

"Making changes in your life is never an easy task. The key, however, is not to get caught up in the distance you have to go to get to where you want to be. Nor should you despair over the amount of control you have over your circumstances. Progress is made in the small, intentional steps, and chances are, you have more power than you think. By focusing on little steps you can take every day, the progress you make will motivate you to continue your journey, and eventually, you can go wherever you want to go. The important thing is simply to begin."
    -Stephen Cherniske

Just stopping by to say hello and to encourage you to keep moving towards your goals, Sparkfriend! Even baby steps add up if you take enough of them...and of course, you know you're worth the effort, right? I'm rooting for you!

"The first step to living the life you want is leaving the life you don't want.
Taking the first step forward is always the hardest.
But then each step forward gets easier and easier.
Each step forward gets you closer and closer until eventually, what had once been invisible starts to be visible.
And what had once felt impossible starts to feel possible."
