I am just over 4 months into my weight loss journey for REAL and have managed to lose just over 11 lbs. Not great, but I'll take it. I have the scale going in the right direction. I am spotty on the exercise, but it is better than it was before. Now to get the rest of my family on board. It will happen. My children are growing constantly and keeping my life interesting. They are my entire world (much to my husbands delight and dismay). Without my family, my life would be so totally different and weird! I do all that I am doing now to impact their lives. Now to get the positive energy BACK!

My name is Ann. I have been married for almost 9 years. I have a beautiful daughter named Emma who just turned 8. I have two sons named Levi who is 4 and Sam who is 21 months. I have been very blessed with my family! I love them all, despite their total differences! Maybe that is why I love them so much! I have slowly packed on the pounds since I got out of college, and I want to unpack the pounds! Who says because I had kids I now have to be heavy! I want to be a healthier person so I can get out and do things with my children!

I had a total hip replacement in 2006, right after my son Levi was born. I no longer have the excuse that "my hip hurts"! I can do the things that I was not able to do for 5 years! :) It is time to get out there and LIVE MY LIFE, not watch it pass me by!

Fitness Minutes: 22,282

My Goals:
I want to be as small as I was in high school! I weighed about 125 lbs then, and there is no reason why I can't weigh that now!

I want to be able to walk around and not be short of breath just from walking! I wan to be able to run in the park with my children as well!

I want to be in at least a size 8, but a size 6 would be better!

My Program:
I am watching the foods that I eat, and how much I eat. I tend to make dinner and then eat as much as I can as fast as I can. I am a really good cook (modest too) and so when I do make dinner, I tend to eat until I"m stuffed because it is SO good! :-) I have started with watching how much I eat, and changing to healthier options. Instead of regular pasta, I will get whole grain pasta. Instead of wheat bread, I will get whole wheat bread or seven grain bread. But the main thing I am doing foodwise, is watching portions, because I don't generally cook anything that is TOO unhealthy, its just the amounts.

I plan on exercising in some form 6 days a week. I have exercise tapes at home that I can do in the winter months. There are people that walk in my building, I can walk with them. I have a bicycle that I will ride once it is warm outside again.

Personal Information:
I am from a sleepy city called Fort Wayne in Indiana. We are the second largest city in the state, but there is NOTHING to do here!

I also help to moderate a weight loss group on yahoo with my friends here in town. We started this group last August, and everyone lost weight except the women who got pregnant, and ME! Not this time! I will lose weight and keep it off! No excuses this time!

    Hi Ann - thank you for checking up on me! I need that sometimes. I have been kind of busy wrapping up the old job while also training and preparing for the new one. I haven't had as much time to log on to SP as I like. But today that all changes, as it's my last day at the old job! Woohoo!

    Look for an article called "Dieting on a Dime" on the Spark People site; in fact, put the name of the article in the search spot & then click on the link. It might help you with some ideas to save money while eating healthy.
