embracing life and all of its challenges

I was inspired to put more about me in here whilst browsing at other sparkmember's pages.

I'm finally back on track with getting healthy again. In November 2008 I gave birth to my first and (so far) only child. The biggest and proudest accomplishment of my life was giving a natural, water birth at home. My boyfriend even had the opportunity of helping 'deliver' our son as he was the one who 'caught' him and introduced him to the world.

Life has been quite an emotional rollercoaster since then, but as of right now I feel like I'm getting so much more closer to that light at the end of the tunnel.

I've been eating healthy, just haven't been too good about the physical portion of health. This is the year I will start running. I just ran my first 5K (4.25.10) in 7 years and I think I'm going to turn this into a weekly goal.

mind.body.soul. i'm in the process of healing all three.

Been a Spark member for nearly 7 years. I have since relocated to sunny California - broke away from my abusive relationship and jumped right into the arms of an amazing, supportive man. I'm excited to get back in the driver seat and take back control of *MY* life!!!

Eating better.

STAY positive.

Maintenance - constant work.

African born to Filipino natives travelled to the states with my family of 6 raised in California, globetrotted for roughly a year, grew up a little in Seattle, WA for 5 years and found myself back in the beautiful Bay Area in California.

Mother of an amazing little boy, girlfriend/partner of a wonderful man.

Accepting all of life's challenges and trying to learn the lessons behind the negativity.

Things turn out best for those people who can make the best out of the way things turn out.
It's not the situation; it's your reaction to the situation.
Thre reality in your life may result from many outside factors, none of which you can control.
Your attitude, however, reflects the ways in which you deal with what is happening to you.
Life at anytime can become difficult. Life at anytime can be easy.
It all depends upon how you adjust yourself to life.
You cannot always control your circumstances. But, you can control your own thoughts.
There is nothing either good or bad, only your thinking makes it so
