    Groups are sort of like recipes but easier... You can put anything in a group... like I have a "beef and aspargus" one... Measured once... added ingredients once... and then "grouped" them into a serving... now when I make that dish, I can just add one serving of "beef and aspargus" and it will put all the items into my tracker... which is great... because then you can make adjustments... say you had extra meat, or added celery for a change... I think there's a SparkPeople demo video for the tracker. That might help you out - it's confusing until you get the hang of it!

    Plan ahead, if you can... you'll learn over time how to estimate your calories if you can't track during the day.

    Get yourself a good kitchen scale and weigh as much as you can. It's the most accurate way to get your calories down.

    Also, as you add more "favorites" to your nutrition tracker, it gets faster and faster to log your meals. You can also use "groups" to put together common meals and the recipe feature to breakdown larger dishes for servings.
