Hi! Thank you for visiting my page...

I'm a vocalist/performer. I have been performing on cruise ships most of my career.

I am now a size 12 or so. Performers like myself, that is still too much weight for the stage. I had been wearing costumes to hide the "blubber". I had put on the pounds through the years. I joined SP to put a stop to that & change the way I live. To follow a healthier life style. To be strong & healthy.

I'm very active on stage and would love to remain active for a while. I want to go back to 135 pounds and at least a size 10, preferably a size 8. For now, I've set the goal at 140 lbs. More realistic to me. We'll see... I understand I need to make realistic goals while leading a healthy life style.

There have been so many changes in my life of late, including family issues. But I must remember that even so, I must take care of myself. There's an old saying in my family... "You must stay healthy, so as to continue to fight the battles." In other words, if you keep putting everyone else before you, you have nothing left for yourself. Sometimes you may gain weight or get ill, etc. If you take care of yourself, you'll be healthy in all ways to be able to support & assist others. It's all about finding the balance.

I decided to take this journey with Spark People because nothing else is working. Especially on my own. Usually I start off with exercise & watching what I eat. But the motivation only last two weeks. Now that I'm not on the road as much, it's easier to "track" my food & fitness.

So far, I've enjoyed the support from all SP members & all the articles. I'm a Zumba Instructor. I got certified two years ago in case the singing work slowed down & it did. I'm loving it! Very passionate about it & it helps to keep me fit. Although I don't teach as often as I'd like. Mainly cause I'm on the road so much...

Glad I put up a blog & I'm actually enjoying it!!!

My Goals:
Lose 30 pounds to achieve my goal weight.
I want to be a size 8, but will settle for size 10.

My Program:
I have a simple program of the diet plan here on SP & a simple exercise program. Giving myself small goals at first... I have Coach Nicole's DVD! And recently started Boot Camp, combining it with Zumba classes!

    Thanks for the encouraging comment on my blog. I just checked out your page and can't imagine the challenge of eating healthy on a cruise ship! I think I gained about 5 lbs every time I went on a cruise! Anyhow, your pictures are beautiful and I'm sure that you'll shed those extra lbs in no time.

    thanks for commenting on my blog. Ricolas are awesome! and i always try to keep some healthy snacks around my desk, like fruit cups or i really like preaventia cookies (whole grains and dark chocolate and pre-packaged so i don't eat too many). ^_^
