I have been struggling for the last couple of years with bouts of major depression. In that time I've been off and on various medications; between those and my penchant to eat when upset I've gained more than I liked.

I enjoy gardening, walking, hiking, cooking, writing and reading.

My Goals:
My primary goal is to eat healthier and avoid emotional eating.

To come up with an alternative for those times when I am feeling depressed, stressed, scared etc instead of eating. Maybe go for a walk.

I want to hit is 190 by May 1st as my first target.

Feel comfortable with myself.

My Program:
To increase my exercise by doing at least 30 minutes a day 5 x's a week.

Get a mini trampoline.

Start jumping rope.

Current Challenge:

I am in! This will be my first challenge since joining Sparkpeople and I really want to connect with others and share our triumphs together.

My goals ~ To lose 20 pounds, gain more energy and feel stronger.

Personal Information:
I am 37, married to a wonderful fella, live in Central Maine have three great step children ages 30, 25, 20 and one very challenging 17 year old adopted daughter.

Enjoy reading, writing, gardening, spending time with my chickens, and cooking.

I have two Pembroke Welsh Corgi's; Keegan is 9 and Mini is my 10 year old rescue baby.

A rescued Diabetic Savannah cat named Themba.

A flock of 20 or so chickens can be found at any moment wandering my yard.

Other Information:

Have participated in NaNoWriMo three years running and won the last two.
