I am a mom to 3 wonderful children...two handsome little boys ages 9 & 7 and my beautiful daughter who just turned 3. I am the wife to my loving husband, Greg....a Sheriff's Deputy who I've been married to for 11 years (together a total of 18 years).

I didn't really struggle with weight issues until I started having children. I have been gradual putting on weight after every child and I haven't successfully been able to remove any of that weight. On September 1st, 2010....I decided enough was enough. I was sick and tired of being sick and tired....I am achy a good majority of the time, I can't sleep very well, I get winded very easily and I am just fed up with not being the role model to my children that they deserve. I also just had surgery last month for a cyst on my ovary (which they had to remove completely) and a large Umbilical Hernia Repair which I'm sure both were caused by my weight.

I had gone to the clinic to see my doctor on September 1st, looking for some help. My doctor recommended that I see a Nutritionist (I'll be seeing her on Labor Day) and to start exercising and eating well. She told me there was no 'magic' diet pill and she didn't recommend me having Gastric Bypass Surgery.

So here I am....the start of my weight loss Journey........
Reward to myself: Will set aside $10.00 for every 5 lb's lost. Will put towards a trip for me and my husband (a romantic getaway if you will :)

240 lb's= Starting weight 9/1/10
235= 9/20/10

I am not a water drinker at all, but my first goal is to drink 8 glasses of water a day.

Stay away from junk food!

Lose 90 Ib's by next December 31st, 2011

My Program:
I'll know more after seeing the Nutritionist on 9/6/10.

But for now, I'm staying away from all soda, drinking my water, tracking every bite & will make sure to work in exercise. I am also steering clear of the junk food....chocolate is my weakness and I can't seem to stop at just one bite.

Personal Information:
I was a Traveling Nurse working in hospitals around the state of Wisconsin for many years, but I was missing my family life. In '07, my husband and I purchased a new home that was set up as an Adult Family Home. I now take care of 3 special needs adults 24 hours a day which allows me to stay home and raise my 3 children.

Weigh in day is on Mondays!

    @ Rachel, thanks for the suggestions you gave me on my blog :) I have no idea how they calculated the calories. I met with my nutritionist for the first time yesterday and she had some formula that she did in a matter of seconds that let me know that I should aim for 1700 calories.....I told her that I thought that was too that I'll shoot for at least 1400-1500 per day. She said that would be fine but NEVER go below 1200 or my body would go in starvation mode. I should have paid more attention to how she figured it out. It is perplexing. I meet with her again in 2 weeks and I'll ask her, then I'll let you know....Thanks again for the helpful hints emoticon

    I just commented on your blog. And I come to check out your page. I am wondering how they figure out calorie intake. You weigh a little less then I do, and you get more calories per day. I work out for 45 minutes at least 5 days a week, and right now on my 2 off days I golf (so more activity). I find this perplexing.
