Hi, my name is Samantha (formerly SRBROWN2). I started Spark People back in April 2011 in hopes of losing about 20 pounds; however, I have been on a bumpy ride since then, and I ended up gaining about 20 more pounds.

In high school, I was petite, and I took my physique for granted. Through college, I ended up gaining almost 50 pounds with the late nights, junk food, and fast food. Those days have led to lack of energy, mood swings, and sleepless nights.

For the longest time, I have hated my body for several reasons -- weight gain, illnesses, and lack of energy to name a few. This hate that I have has only produced a girl who sits on the sideline and now, I want to start living.

I am 24 years old. In May of 2011, I graduated college with a degree in History and a certification in Art History. Currently, I am working full time until I figure out my plans in regards to graduate school.

    Thanks. I think the food diary will be helpful too. I believe I had suggested other testing, but my doctor never did anything else.

    Unfortunately, I no longer have a choice about not dealing with the gluten. Now, even if I have a trace amount of the stuff, I'm left hobbling around in pain, and eating everything in sight. When I originally thought maybe wheat was affecting me, I figured I'd have stomach issues with reintroduction, and then if, in the future, I wanted to ahve something with wheat in it, it would be worth a day of stomach issues once every couple months. But no - the messups of the last few days have showed me that this is only getting worse. I think I've passed the point of no return, so to speak. Which is really frustrating! You really do have to check everything!
