In November 2008 I decided to CHANGE my life. Yep, that's right, it was right before the dreaded holiday season. I was NOT going to start another year off with the same old goal to lose weight and was not going to wait until January 1 to start this new life. I was so tired of thinking each year if I had only done this last year I would be at my goal by now.This was it, I was going to start my new life and accomplish my goals once and for all. Fast forward to January 2010...I have lost 55 pounds and I WILL lose at least 20 more pounds and then see how I feel. How did I do it? No magic bullet, I am afraid. Moving more and eating healthy. More fruits, veggies and lean protein and less CRAP, less processed junk. It's amazing how that really does work. Do I still have days when I fall off the wagon? You betcha. Do I feel guilty? Maybe for a second but this time it's different. Instead of throwing in the towel and quitting. I just move on to the next day and do better. I believe in eating all things in moderation. However, pizza and soy and wasabi almonds and onion dip are still my downfalls!! Life is too short to not have some yummy foods occasionally. Occasionally is the key word...for many years I just ate whatever I wanted and didn't think much about it. WOW it's amazing how a few hundred extra calories each day adds up SO FAST. Update Jan 2011: Lost 67 pounds total but not at goal. A lot of up and down in 2010. I turn 50 this year and want to be at goal (80 pounds) by July. Wish me luck!
