I am not really overweight, but I could be very easily. I also am disabled and have trouble with my legs. Because of that I use my arms to pull me around and such. The less I weigh, the easier it will be to drag myself around. Plus, I really can't afford a whole new wardrobe if my clothes don't fit anymore. I try and exercise everyday, for two reasos, of course I would like to lose weight, and I have to keep what muscles I do have from atrophy. It just doesn't seem fair that some people can eat anything they want and don't HAVE to exercise like I do. I couldn't go for a walk for more than a few feet.
Sometimes I feel like my body has betrayed me, but most of the time I just feel like that's the way my life is.

My Goals:
I guess my primary goal is to not get worse physically. I have given up on getting better, but I don't want to quickly get worse. I am sure I will get worse, but I try to slow it down. I also would like to lose t
5 or 10 pounds.

My Program:
I try and exercise everyday, if only for a little while. Every movement counts. The only time I really don't exercise, is if I have heavy cleaning to do. I am always tired, and can't do too much in one day.

Personal Information:
I live outside of Pittsburgh, Pa. In the USA. I am 56 years old and live alone. I am divorced with no children. I had an original diagnosis of cerebellur degeneration and when I went for a second opinion they said no. I have been dealing with pysical problems since I was in Jr. High. It gets worse all of the time, and now I use a walker most of the time. Sometimes a wheelchair or crutches, but always something.

Other Information:
I read a lot, and like to watch movies. I am really interested in historical movies, mostly the history of the US, around the civil war, or war for independance. I also nap almost every day and that is the highlight of my day.

    You ask " Why can't I be normal?", Consider this - Normal is what YOU believe it to be. If you mean to say "Why can't I be like others?", consider what "others" you want to be like online and offline. Surround yourself daily or as often as possible with these others. The others you surround yourself with can also be in audio and video and book form. The important part is that whomever you choose is one of the "others" you want to be like. No envy or self judgement. This practice is one step toward developing the support necessary to feel better.
