I have lost over 50 lbs & am under 200 lbs for the first time in approximately 14 years! In the past I've never lost more than 25 lbs without then giving up, so I am very proud of myself for being dedicated to my new healthy lifestyle! I still have at least 50 lbs to go, but I'm finally beginning to see it when I look in the mirror- especially in my face! In the first photo I was already down maybe 4 or 5 lbs but I started June 16, 2018 at 250.0 lbs. #BeforeAndAfter

Hello! My name is Candice. I am 37 years old, married 16 years to my best friend & love of my life. We're both in this journey to getting healthier together, and I couldn't do it without his motivation & daily encouragement! Some stats: I am 5'2.75" tall. My highest weight was 267 lbs [BMI 47.7], and I was wearing a very tight size 24 jeans. I started back on Sparkpeople on June 16, 2018 at 250.0 lbs, and my lowest was on March 31, 2020 when I weighed 141.2 lbs. May 2020 update: My doctor wanted me to stop losing weight for now (so my hormones have time to balance out before trying to lose more). So currently I am working on maintaining my weight for at least 6 months. Since the beginning of April, my weight has been staying between 142-146 lbs. August 2020 update: In mid/late May I was weaned off of my anti-psychotic because of side effects I just couldn't bear any longer. (I'm still on a mood stabilizer, anti-anxiety med, & ADD med.) It takes 4-12 months for the brain to fully adjust to being off of it though... to try to adjust to "functioning without" that kind of med (which I'd been on for a very long time). In the midst of this, the anxiety & depression that has since occurred, in addition to the binge eating which having sadly returned (and I'm struggling HARD to control it), I gained back some weight. I'm sure being stuck inside due to COVID & the summer heat doesn't help any either. My weight hit 159.8 lbs yesterday, and I don't intend on letting it go up any further. I WILL NOT LET THIS GET THE BEST OF ME. I AM WORTH THE EFFORT. I DESERVE TO BE HEALTHY & HAPPY. I CAN DO THIS. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
^*^*^*^*^*^* Non-scale victories I've achieved: *Brought my blood pressure back down to normal and avoided going on blood pressure medication! *My doctor took me off of cholesterol medication, to see if I can control it without medication! *My A1c is down to 4.8% and I am currently off of all diabetes medications! *According to BMI charts, I've moved from "Obese Class III" (June 2018), to "Obese Class II" (Oct 20, 2018), to "Obese Class I" (Feb 3, 2019), to "Overweight" (June 7, 2019) Scale Victories: *Reached 50 lbs lost (Jan 24, 2019 / 6 months) *I'm under 200 lbs again for the first time in over 15 years! *Reached 70 lbs lost (Apr 5, 2019 / 10 months) *Reached 100 lbs lost (Nov 6, 2019 / 1 yr 5 months) I have many health problems & problems with my neck & low back. I still take a lot of medications. This all makes weightloss & exercise much more difficult but I'm not going to let ANY of it stop me from trying to live a healthier lifestyle! ... No more excuses!

My Goals:

My Program:
Every day I track:
- my food & drinks (total of 1000-1200 calories & 100-120 carbs a day, all per my doctor's advice)
- water (at least 8-12 a day)
- sleep (8-9 hrs every night)

I simply eat sensibly & in moderation. I eat 3-5 fruits & veggies and try to make smart, healthy food choices. I do try to stay away from refined carbs, sweets & soda. I stay away from them because I can very quickly become addicted to sugar, and it leads me to binge eat. So as long as I don't eat them *regularly*, I don't crave them and I'm not tempted by them. That's doesn't mean I don't sometimes treat myself though! Just everything is always in moderation!

Personal Information:
I've never been a healthy weight in my adult life. According to BMI charts I should weigh between 104-139 lbs but for now I am being realistic and aiming for 150 lbs... then I'll re-evaluate. I picked that because when I was 18-19 years old I weighed around 150 lbs and remember being happy in my own skin. So I'll start with that.

[Update] After reaching 150 lbs, and I am going to aim for around 140 lbs or so. But there's no specific date in mind; just keep doing what I am doing and see how it goes from there.

I've been on SP for just shy of six months now and am amazed at the absolutely incredible amount of support I've received. This is a fabulous site and you will be astounded at what you get out of it if you give it your all. From recent experiences I can absolutely say that there is no mountain too high to get over, no hole too deep to get out of. And cliches aside, you are truly capable of anything!
