I went from 115 lbs 30 years ago, to 204 lbs this past year. Needless to say, its depressing and frustrating. I have no pity for myself in this matter, yet by the same token I didn't post an invitation for 89 lbs to stubbornly reside upon my otherwise healthy body. They just lodged themselves upon me and they refuse to even pay rent! Its like having 89 roommates I never invited. Financially, its tandem to having 89 separate high interest rate credit cards; they never let you out of their grasp, and they multiply! One year you have just 1 of them, an extra pound hitching a ride, you barely notice, the next year you have 5 of them, but it's no problem, you think its just an anomaly with the scale, yet a year later you have 10, until one day you laboriously slink yourself to the scale and discover 89 of them. Eighty nine hitchhiking pounds dragging you down, with more on the way and no end in site. I picked each one of these hitchhikers up over a slice of cake, a sip of rootbeer, a bowl of icecream, I never could pass up these familiar sweet little social strangers, so I let them all hop onboard, until my fuel economy from carrying 89 of them around is so low that I don't bother going anywhere anymore. For breakfast, instead of looking forward to eating pancakes, I look like I've become a leaning stack of pancakes! I look in the mirror and tell myself to hold the butter and request real maple syrup. I get no benefits from these sweet but loathsome hitchhikers! I want to shed these stowaways, and discover life without heavy unwelcome parasites clinging to my otherwise skinny ribcage. I am officially seeking sanctuary from these sweet freeloaders - be gone thee!!!!

    Good luck with achieving your goals - keep tracking, posting and blogging - it really does help you stay on track (makes mental note to self to try and follow her own advice more frequently emoticon )

    If you need encouragement to help you stay on track (and let's face it, most of us do at some point!) try encouraging others - send them a goodie, comment on their blog or their spark page. That way you build up a network of folk who will support you and we all get help on the way to our goals - can't be bad!

    I'm glad I could inspire you. In turn you will inspire others.

    I feel much better than I used to. My thyroid meds are still off and it appears I have issues with my adrenals - next month I find out where to from here, but hey, I'm trying to be as healthy as an old gal can be.

    Be careful with the seafood, most of the waters are so polluted you never know what you are ingesting. Also wear rubber gloves when you are working with chemicals of any kind.

    If you decide to wear makeup Bare Minerals are all natural ingredients ;)

    Thank for your reply and suggestions Etwolie; I'm inspired by your success in losing hitchhikers! You must be running smoother and getting much better mpg now. I'm going to remember to ask my mechanic to check my engine's thyroid!

    I have been trying to get rid of all the toxins, eating a lot of organics, minimizing meat to just seafood for now, and using the zone diet principles. I have not been wearing makeup, so at least that is not a concern! :)
