I'm not really self motivated, so, I decided to create a spark page so that I could be held accountable for my actions. There is much inspiration to be found throughout the profiles of many. I'm glad to be part of this wonderful community, and wish everyone the greatest success on this difficult journey.

Being that I'm 6'7, my weight has always been evenly distributed throughout my body. The weight continued to creep up on me, slowly becoming more and more visible. I was 250 for the longest time, but recently the death of my grandmother and grandfather, plus a bad breakup lead me to gain another 50 pounds. It's time to stop dwelling in the past and take control of my body. I'm here to make friends, lose weight, and enjoy life to its fullest. My ultimate goal is to be at what I feel is a good weight-- which has yet to be decided. My first goal is 60 pounds, and from there, the sky is the limit.

1/?/2009 - 305 (I am unsure of when I began, it was sometime late January)
2/6/2009 - 297.
2/7/2009 - 295. Some progress, although I fear it may have been mostly waterweight.
2/15/2009 - 293. Bodyfat has dropped 4% and muscle has risen nearly 2%. Works for me :).
3/6/2009 - 284. It's been a while since I've updated. It seems my plateau has been overcome, I'm off to 260 !

Wow, nearly 3 months away from spark people and I managed to stay on track. I've hit a roadblock along the way in the gym. While working out I injured my rotator cuff, possibly due to bad form. It's disheartening to say the least, however, when one door closes another opens. Since I can no longer weight train as I had previously done, I've now taken up the task of jogging a 5k nonstop. I've just completed week 2 day 1 of the Couch potato to 5k plan. I will try my best to actively update my page. There is never an excuse to give up. Successful people must take their plights and use them as motivation if they are to succeed. Nothing can hold you down except your own self pity.

My Goals:
To feel comfortable with my body. I've never really been in shape, and now is a better time than ever. I intend to lose 60 pounds initially, and then decide if I should continue from there, or turn the rest into muscle slowly.

My Program:
Mainly I am eating healthy, maintaining a good amount of protein in my diet as to preserve as much lean body mass possible-- resulting in a supercharged metabolism. Controlled calories, low fat, adequate protein. Resistance training every other day as well as 30 minutes of cardio at least 3 times a week.

Personal Information:
Born and raised in Florida. I'm 20 years old and am currently a full time student pursuing an MBA.

Other Information:
I enjoy photography, astronomy, football, good tv, computer science, and much much more.
