On my 47th birthday, I made a commitment to give myself the gift of a new body. Starting with a total of fifty pounds total to lose, I made it to the halfway point on June 25, 2010. I am working towards being a vibrant, active, fit, and inspiring mom to my 7 year old daughter, and an energetic and sexy wife to my husband!

Two of my passions in life are my family, and my music. I am a singer/songwriter of "Posi" or positive music, a new, emerging genre of music of which I'm a huge fan. Search for "The JaJa's" on facebook and friend me for free streaming!

My third and most recent passion in life is ROLLERSKATING! Yes, you heard it right! My daughter and I signed up for skating lessons together (see pic at left). Did you know you can burn 700-1500 calories per session? We are having a blast. I'm learning how to skate backwards!!!

My Goals:
Lose a total of 50 pounds.
Exercise 105 minutes/wk
Sleep 8 hours a night
Drink 8 glasses of water a day.

My Program:
Using SparkPeople to track nutrition and exercise.

Rollerskating or Swimming with my daughter at least 3 days/week

Taking a long walk to the cafeteria at work every day to refill my water bottle and squeak in 15 minutes of walking 5 days a week

    Thanks for the comment.

    I trained with Team Challenge for my first and second half marathon. We had 16 weeks to train. I didn't quite follow the schedule, never did strength or core, but I did train at least twice a week. I also did the couch to 5K while training for the first one! It was a blast. I ended up walking/running and finished just under 4 hours. I didn't train at all for the Chicago Marathon, maybe a month. I finished on stubbornness alone! I did have the knowledge and was ready with my "stuff", Naproxen, Energy Blocks, energy beans, and water! Half marathons are much easier on the body. I actually am going to train, for real this time, for a half marathon or a tri in May. It helps to have a goal! Best wishes for the New Year!
