I feel like the character in "Bird Cage", when I say, that" I have yo-yo'd losing and gaining 10 - 15 pds. over the past few years". But I stay with it when my health allows. I try to give myself a break too, because at my age health issues come and go (hopefully) and just "getting out there" to exercise and the challenge of limiting food choices and/or changing your diet are often formidable. I am going to continue on - the bottom line being that I feel so much better when active and eating healthy.

My Goals:
Sign up with trainer for intervals and take one fitness class before summer.
Lose 12 lbs
Before July 1, do a long distance bike ride (50 or more miles)

My Program:
1. Track food & water every day.
2. Begin with personal trainer for intervals training.
Be active on Sat and/or Sun. (bike ride, hike, dance, garden)
3. Read at least 3 articles about p.m. and evening eating.
4. Use the info. to modify behavior.

I'm happily married for over 35 yrs.
I'm from Northern California and live in a wonderful agri/rural central community.
I'm Christian and Liberal (yes we are out there ;)
My daily sin: Coffee
My heart goes out to: the mentally ill & homeless people in America and the world.
I'm saddened and disgusted by violence against women & girls.

    Welcome back! Glad to see your msg today! I am doing pretty good... Still struggling with dad. We had to move him to assisted living in Feb. and there are always issues with that😊 I decided to have weight loss surgery - did that in Dec. down 65lbs

    Hello! I am hanging in there... some days better than others... still running crazy with appointments for dad. and of course the hectic days of school have begun, so trying to balance both.

    We took dad home to NY two weeks ago and our car broke down while we were there... had to tow it to a kia dealership! LOL we ended up buying a new car while we were there - it was going to take a week to get the part, and the money we would have spent on renting a truck to move his stuff and then having to go back to get the car would have been tremendous sooooo we used it as a down payment!

    My new car is named Harry. He is a 2014 Kia Sorento... It is amazing how much changed in the 6 years since we bought the last one!

    Keep up your good work with biking and weight training! Hoping someday soon I will have time for me!

    Hello! How have you been? I have been extra busy between drs appointments for dad and going to a workshop in Asheville. Workshop was amazing and Asheville which is in the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC is an amazing place to visit! Haven't been to the gym much but have gotten some more things cleaned and organized around the house. Dad left today to have a short visit with my sister and her 2 kids. So in the meantime I am planning to clean the house from top to bottom and prep for another school year, which is fast approaching!

    How has your bicycling been going?? Any fun trips?
