I joined SparkPeople ages ago, and I've been both more and less focused over the years. I'm in my mid-40's and I spend too much time sitting in chairs and not enough time moving around. It's time to be healthier!

It's 2013 and hopefully things will be amazing!!

Fitness Minutes: 2,192

My Goals:
12/27/11: My long-term weight-loss goal is to get back to165-170 (for reference, I'm 5'7"). More importantly, I want to get in much better physical shape so that I am not out of breath and can do things without feeling limited by my weight and attendant aches & pains.

I would like to continue to make exercise a regular part of my life.

I would like to get more and better sleep.

I want to complete C25K. (Okay, I want to start C25K!)

I want to fit back into my kayak.

I want to fit into the box of "Will fit into eventually" clothes from before (even if I promptly dispose of them afterwards!)

My Program:
I am eating less, and trying to focus on getting good protein and a small amount of carbs. I am roughly shooting for my Spark suggested range although when I start seriously strength training that will have to adjust somewhat.

I am making better choices generally, and tracking my food (most of the time).

I am drinking water and have almost entirely given up diet soda and artificial sweeteners.

I am being more protective of my time and setting boundaries so I am not working constantly.

I am trying to go to bed on time.

I train with a trainer at my gym twice a week, and I shoot for three other days of cardio.

Personal Information:
I work a moderately-stressful desk job with long hours, and spend too much time on the PC. I am a writer, photographer and genealogist, I love to cook. Over the past couple of years I have started gardening a bit. I also like online gaming and home-brewing.

I'm married and cats let me live in their house.
