Hello! I have tried everything else, including bariatric surgery in 2003. But I have been unsuccessful. Before the surgery I weighed 400 lbs. Now I am currently at 286.... I achieved this loss through prior support and aid from joining SPARKPEOPLE, and a lot of hard work. I have recently been through a year long separation and a divorce. I've been through some major transitioning in the last year... so have not had much success for that period... but now here I am... wanting to get back on track. :-)

Fitness Minutes: 1,335

My Goals:
Lose 83 lbs. by the end of February, so I can have an incisional hernia repair. Make healthier food choices and eat in moderation. Become more active and have more energy for my children.


My Program:
My program so far is to use my nutrition tool and keep a daily record of what I am eating and my calorie intake. Keeping a fitness record. Doing my strength exercises and walking 2-4 miles daily. Also seeking daily inspiration and encouragement through my Spark Friends. :)



Personal Information:
I live in Arizona. I am 42 and recently divorced. My Ex was an emotional abuser who was extreme in not supporting my weight loss efforts. I have three awesome daughters, they are the center of my world. They keep life very interesting (never a dull moment.) Lol. I count my blessings, and give God thanks every day!


Other Information:
I love a variety of music it inspires and motivates me, and I love to dance like a fool around my living room with my girls. :-) :-)

    I wish I had some magic for you...I don't always feel momentum myself, even now. I suppose my bottom line this time is this: you don't get to go on vacation from your life. You can't pretend a day doesn't matter. Or a week. Or a year. It does matter, every day. And I have bad days, that is for sure. I even have bad weeks now. But today it is important for me to not let that turn to months and years, because my life is too important today. I have been able to do things since losing some of my weight (only about 1/2) that I have not done in YEARS. There is a freedom to this that is too precious to let go. It isn't easy, and I am not always very motivating, but it is SO worth it. Enjoy food. Just enjoy less of it than you did before. Eventually you'll find you are enjoying life more, too. Hang in there. Just don' t quit, no matter what. You will surprise yourself, I promise!

    Thank you for the workout shoes. You know I never wore out a pair of workout shoes until last year. My shoes I bought last year to go to the Y actually got holes in them :) Its a great reason to buy more...now I have several pairs. Thanks hon!

    You tell your daughters from the mouths of my children who have been doing this with me for 15 months now....they will live. You are actually teaching them life skills that they can take with them in hopes of preventing the same battle that we deal with....and your right they will see you have fun too. One of my best moments in this past year is when I did a "flip" in the pool and my daughter was amazed at the fact I could do that...this year I jumped in without saying "if I jump in all the water will splash out" she again was amazed. Your children will see these little things and they too will be "amazed" at their new and improved mom. Have a great day!
