Reached my highest weight of 509 lbs. in May of 2009. I was 30 years old and knew I had to make a change. I set a goal to reach 299 lbs. I lost 121 lbs in less than a year only to gain 78 lbs back. May 5, 2012, I weighed 466 lbs and began my journey to 299 again. I reached 299 lbs. on July 15, 2013! Now I am on to bigger and better goals!

No surgery. No fad diets. No nutritionist. No trainer. No diet pills. No shortcuts. I used will power and knowledge I learned along the way to make it happen!

05/05/12 - 466 lbs. (down from my highest 509)
06/19/12 - 432.1 lbs. (eating right) [76.9 lbs. total]
08/31/12 - 401.7 lbs. (finished Insanity) [107.3 lbs. total]
11/30/12 - 358.3 lbs. (finished Tap Out XT) [150.7 lbs. total]
02/27/13 - 331.9 lbs. (finished P90x) [177.1 lbs. total]
05/12/13 - 323.9 lbs. (finished Les Mills Combat) [185.1 lbs. toatl]
07/15/13 - 299.2. lbs. (doing my 100 Day Hybrid) [209.8 lbs. total]
09/27/13 - 294.1 lbs. (finished my 100 Day Hybrid [214.9 lbs. total]
10/17/13 - 292.9 lbs.

After 6 weeks of just eating right, I lost 33.9lbs! I finished the Insanity workout program, and lost another 30.4 lbs! Then I finished the Tap Out XT workout program, and lost another 43.4 lbs! I finished the P90x and lost 26.4 lbs! I finished Les Mills Combat and lost 8.0 lbs! I finished my own 100 day hybrid of all 4 programs and lost 29.8 lbs!

I am a single Dad of 3 and I needed to make changes in my life! I am using Spark to aid me in the process!

At the beginning of my journey, back on May 5, 2012, I had 167 lbs. to lose! Now, 55 weeks later, I have lost 153.8 lbs. and have just 12.8 lbs. more to go.

    I enjoyed reading your weight loss story this morning. What an achievement. There was a lot of good advice, gems, in your article. The keys are that you made your own plan, and you studied nutrition to find out for yourself what would work for you. That is what made it possible.

    I started my journey for the thousandth time, and these two things are what works for me this time. I had 100 pounds to lose. I can't/don't exercise, so it is very slow going, but I am determined.

    Thanks for your motivational article. I am leaving you with a "key" goodie because you have found the key to your success.
