Introduction Text I'm a mother of 2 with a special needs teen and an elementary schooler who knows it all. I have multiple medical issues and a loving, supportive, caring partner who helps take care of me through it all. I'm struggling to lose the weight I put on through comfort foods and not being able to do much in times of depression and pain. I'm determined to take much of this weight off and fix myself up as much as possible. I'm hoping the extensive support and resources on Spark can help me. Update 11/2/20: I changed my name from SALLEN82 because I am now divorcing my husband and getting back together with my son's father. My husband was abusive, moreso after I lost weight and and then started feeling worse from food triggers. I am feeling better without him and ready to work on my weight again, especially now that I know I have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and how to somewhat work around it when it comes to food. Update 6/9/16: I previously wrote that I had been struggling to take the weight off, but that was before SparkPeople. Using dietary changes alone, I was able to take weight off easier than I ever have in my life and keep it off. I still have about 30 more pounds until my goal, but due to being overwhelmed by medical issues I went into maintenance mode for a little over a month and have done it easily. Now that I'm getting more comfortable with my routine and learning how my body reacts to certain stimuli, I feel like I may be able to work on losing weight again at the same slow and comfortable rate I was going before. SparkPeople makes this easy for me and with the social aspect, I know that I'll have one place to go when to find people who are trying to lose weight but have similar issues with some exercises, what happens afterward, and possibly with certain foods.
