I've been in pretty much the same shape all of my life. Even when I played sports in high school, Granted, I've lost and kept off about 15 pounds since my heaviest state. I have a long way to go. I seem to always be making plans and promises to myself to start tomorrow or keep it going for more than a week. Food, I thought, was both my best friend and enemy. It was my comfort, my go-to man, my love and all the while the very object of guilt, misery and disappointment.

Mid March of this year I had a, no an EPIPHANY. Food doesn't have arms to pull me toward the fridge or pantry! I have arms! I have power over it. I will no lo longer succumb to being the under dog in this battle of happiness. I am in control.

Suddenly, everything made sense to me. If I want to wear a two piece or an outfit from Lucky magazine (which I subscribe to only to gaze wishfully at all the beautiful pieces I can't fit into) I CAN!!!

This time is different. It doesn't feel like all of my other attempts. It's odd. My addiction to food has somehow left me. I only just realized how incredibly free I've always been.

This is who I've always deserved to be.

Welcome to the Couch to 5k running group!!!! Stop by the message board and introduce yourself to the team. On the team page you will find a thread for each training week. Click on week one and post were you are at in your training. This is a great way to meet others who are in the same phase of training as you. Some of my best friends were in my training week one and we worked through the program together sharing victories, questions, comments, and ideas. I look forward to learning more about you. I will be popping in on the Weeks 1 - 3 training to help answer any questions that might pop up and to cheer you on to your goals! Be blessed! Be a runner!
