In the beginning, there was fat, and it was bad...I used food as an anti-depressant, and had many mental traumas which had me turning to food. Everything from mental abuse from my first marriage, to multiple deaths in the family that just seem to come all at once. Food was the only thing that didn't abuse me, hit me, or bite me, or so I thought. I assumed I had been fat all my life, but a few years ago, I saw my younger pictures and realized that I wasn't as fat as I thought I was. However, I had the spirit of a 20 year old, and felt trapped in the body of a 60 or 80 year old ( not being able to move, with multiple health issues). I, at that point, had resigned myself to dying from some horrible fate similar to my parents (heart attack, stroke, complications of diabetes, etc.). I became a "paper bag" girl, because I was too lazy to prepare anything, and ate whatever was served to me. Eventhough my current husband is a very loving person, and could cook wonderful things, I still gained weight (he loves me no matter what size I am).

One day (June 16, 2009), my director of nursing pestered, and bugged me to join Weight Watcher's at work. Something inside me told me to go, while at the same time, I had a little voice that kept telling me I was only setting myself up for failure.

I remember that first day like it was yesterday. I was nearly in tears wondering what I was thinking. I had failed at everything else, this was only one more thing to fail at. I had also thought, "What was I doing here, I have so much weight to lose, I am fatter than anyone else here, etc."

Then, the WW leader approached me (Ivy Luciano) and told me some wonderful wisdom which I still hold dear to me. One person can not compare one's self to anyone else because we are all different and have our own personal goals and journeys.

So, with Ivy's wisdom in mind, I started in June 2009 on this journey of a lifetime, and at this time, I have lost 84 pounds. It has been quite an adventure, and has had it's good moments and bad moments. Every day is a victory because I can wake up breathing, moving, and able to live a lifestyle of my choosing. I signed up for this website to use as another resource towards my goal and to journal my experience. I want to someday look back on this and read my steps and changes to my life, and hopefully use this to inspire someone else.

My Goals:
My goal is several fold. I would like to lose 136 pounds +; I want to look good doing it, and most importantly, get healthier. I know that successes are not just numbers on a scale. They are also numbers on my blood work too,as well as inches around my waist, butt, bust, the batwings (upperwings), and numbers on the size tags of my new wardrobe.

My Program:
I have been on Weight Watchers since June 2009. Currently have lost enough to equal that of a small child.

Exercise consists of my being a ventilator nurse (running up and down the hallways), hitting the treadmill (when stressed from work), and recently shoveling LOTS of snow out of our driveway!

Personal Information:
Married with 1 - 22year old step son. I work for a healthcare system in New York, and work on a long-term rehab. ventilator unit.

Other Information:
Hobbies: Beads, Beads, and more Beads

Loves: Husband, Step-son, and our Camper. Love to camp along the St. Lawrence River.

Favorite Places to go: Niagara Falls - Canada; Cedar Point State Park; Golden Hill State Park; anywhere where my husband & I can camp near water.

Bucket List: To camp along route 1 in Maine near the atlantic ocean;
Camp around each of our great lakes; and to camp in some of our great national parks out west. (I'm sure I'll add to this one as time goes along.)
