When I was a kid I was called "Toothpick" and it hurt my feelings.
I think I was skinny from way too much stress then.
Before my 1st child was born I weighed 110 lbs at 5 ft. 5 1/2 inches. After my 3rd child was born I settled at about 125 lbs.
I had a total hysterectomy when I was 28 but, not much change in weight. I didn't get up to 140 until I was about age 39.
Then when I was 46 I had stage 4 breast cancer and after chemo and radiation I got up into the 190s.
I am a medium frame and at 51, I lost 50 lbs on Atkins in about 6 months. I gained it all back when I put all my focus on my daughter while I was caring for her after her stroke in 1997. She is doing fine now.
Now, in my golden years, I just want to stay healthy. I have been learning a lot from Dr. Eric Berg and doing Ketosis and Intermittent Fasting lifestyle since Sat.,10/26/19. I stopped using All SUGAR including foods that turn to sugar in my body, like all bread, potatoes, pasta, rice and anything with white or wheat flour in it, etc. https://www.drberg.com/

Saturday ~10/26/19 ~ I made a commitment to myself: No More Sugar!
(1) So far, my morning readings of Blood Sugar have dropped from 250s to 100s.
(2) My mood is so much better.
(3) I'm getting out of chairs easier and walking faster.
(4) My left knee has stopped hurting.
(5) I don't need to urinate near as often.
(6) My belly Is NOT bloated anymore.
(7) I'm sleeping so much better too.
(8) I have lots more energy.
(9) I'm not hungry all the time anymore.
(10) I have stopped losing weight for now. (But, I'm not worried, that will happen as a side effect as I get healthy).

Once I made up my mind to do Keto I went to my kitchen and through away my bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, and anything that was high in carbs (I could do this because it's just my husband and me). Don't worry I kept the things he really likes and he's fine with it. Then I made my list of allowed meats, veggies, and condiments and off to the grocery store I went.

I have published your lab results on to your portal.

I wanted to congratulate you on the enormous success demonstrated by these labs. You are no longer showing any evidence of diabetes, elevated liver enzymes, or elevated triglycerides.

Your electrolytes, kidney function, and blood count also looked great. Your thyroid is in control.

Your cholesterol is still elevated however the majority of this is usually due to genetics. Please keep up your success and do not revert back to the diet that caused all the problems we identified earlier.

Today is the day I found out about PICKLEBALL. I had to Google and look it up on YouTube to find out what the heck it was. I have been excited about this Pickleball all day.

So I'm going to buy some Pickleball paddles and the balls and see if we can use the Tennis Court at the VA in town. I'm thinking that I could just use some duck tape to mark off the Pickleball court. Of course, I have to try to explain this to my sister-in-law and get a few others to have someone to play with.

A Spark Message I sent to Karen KD Girl who ask me questions that I had a hard time answering.
Hi Karen KD,

Your welcome Karen, I'm not sure what you mean by "real-time situation", but I do use an app tracker. It really helps. It lets me know when my 20 hours of fasting are up and if I have been having some hunger pains I will eat shortly after I'm notified if no hunger pains I wait until I'm really hungry.

I have never been one to eat breakfast when I first get up anyway. So I lesson to my body. There is nothing set in stone with me. But, generally, I would say that I shoot for my 4-hour window being in the middle of the day from 1 pm to 5 pm.

I did eat a lot more when I first started. The main thing is to eat all you want to until you get full. Now I don't eat as much now because I get full on less food. One thing I had to do is get used to having veggies with my eggs and bacon which I have at least every other day.
Typically I have:
2 eggs, fried or scrambled (with mushrooms, onions, and cheese) in coconut oil
2 slices of bacon, broiled on parchment paper
1/2 an avocado
and a veggie, sometimes Brussel sprouts, broccoli, a kale salad, or maybe a green smoothie.
I have about 2 leaders of water a day and always take a 20 oz covered cup to bed with me.
Most every morning I drink a mug of Turmeric Tea and I have one or two cups of my fave coffee with heavy whipping cream and a sweetener in it with my meal.
Now I do have other things that are low in carbs and protein but higher in fat. I like walnuts, radishes, olives, cheese, Fat Bombs, etc.

I guess the best thing I could suggest is to post what you want to eat in the SP tracker and see what the carbs, protein, and fats are BEFORE you eat them. If you know you are eating the right foods you don't have to worry about calories.

I'm not at my goal yet but, my goal may not be my body's goal. My goal is 135 lbs. I sill have about 33 lbs. to go. I don't plan on changing anything. When I started this it was for my health, to get my blood sugar down and help my fatty liver. Also, my triglycerides have been high for years. I have reached that goal and I couldn't be happier about that.

When I was 28 I had to have a total hysterectomy and at age 46 I went through chemo and radiation due to stage 4 breast cancer. So my metabolism has been slow most of my life. My normal weight was 125 lbs. for years after my 3 kids were born until cancer. Then in 2005, I was told that I was diabetic and at that time I was very close to 200 lbs.

Now I feel better than I have in years so this lifestyle is a way of life for me until I die. Now, I'm not saying I will all ways do the 20/4 IF, I may drop back to 18/6 some days and I may have a baked potato or a piece of birthday cake now and then but I must always do Keto and IF so I can live a longer and healthier life. The kicker is I really enjoy this lifestyle. Now I just have to get the motivation to start exercising again.

When I was in my twenties I worked in Health Studios in Houston, Chicago, and Seattle. I was amazed at the women over 55 who exercised and looked great. I don't know what I thought the age limit was for exercise then but now I know we are never too old to exercise. For our bone health if nothing else. A masseuse once told me I don't care what pill you put into your mouth even an aspirin, it will have some side effect in your body and I have never forgotten that. So I hate taking any medication even BP meds. So exercising and the way we eat keeps us healthy. To me, my health is the most valuable thing I have. I think the less we weigh the fewer pills we have to take. I'm not stupid though, I know even being thin we can get ill or have health problems.

It has taken me years to figure out what is right for me, may not be right for others. So, lessen to your body no matter what age you are.

    Hi Bobbie, I hope you are well on this bright Monday morning. I used to not enjoy Mondays, the kind of back to the grind mindset but then I changed my mind and decided every Monday was the beginning of a new week, (I know Sunday really is ) and to me that meant a fresh slate and a whole week ahead of possibilities with no mistakes in it yet. So I have loved Monday's ever since.

    Your cauliflower pizza sounded yummy I make that for my family every Friday night because my youngest son and I are allergic to grains. The squash sounded yummy too. I love vegetable and I am so thankful that I do because I know there are a lot of people who struggle with them. I lost another pound since yesterday so now I am at 18 pounds lost. I can't believe it. I finally found what works for me and I'm so thrilled to feel like I finally have control over food and eating and I am shrinking!! I have a long way to go 18 down and 188 to go.

    I love the quotes on your page. I love the one about giving all your troubles to God before you go to bed. That was amazing. Yes he never slumbers or sleeps, he is always awake to take care of us.

    I know that feeling of gaining and losing the same few pounds over and over. I have been doing that with 10 or 20 for a couple of years. The plan I am doing now has finally broken through that and I am so excited. I already and wearing clothes I haven't worn in 2 or 3 years and I found I shirt I haven't been able to wear for 5 years.
