**This is 5+ years old** New Year's resolutions are fine and good, but I don't find any special motivation in hanging a new calendar. Sure, it is the time we tend to take a look at ourselves -- what we want to achieve and change, and ways we would like to grow. At the end of the day, however, setting a weight loss goal as a NYR doesn't do me any good. The last time I updated this text was around New Year' 2009. I was trying to shake the last of my pregnancy weight and get more fit/toned. 2.5 years have passed, and I am heavier than I was then, my body fat percentage is the highest it has *ever* been (excluding post-partum), and I am really unhappy with my body. I've been grieving lost lives and lost relationships lately, and have really packed on the pounds. I haven't been this heavy since about 6 months after my mom died. Running the numbers, I am "average," but my weight doesn't distribute evenly -- at all. It is all in my waist and face, so if I turn my head, look down or move I have a double chin, and my gut and love handles protrude over the tops of my pants and none of my clothes fit properly. Sooo...I'm back. About 14 months ago I was about 17 pounds lighter and felt really good about how I looked. My goal right now is to just lose 11 pounds. I've never set phase or stepping-stone goals before, but I think it will be good for me (mentally) to have a mid-point accomplishment. And here we go. =)

    Hey girly!! You look sooo good! I've been struggling here lately to find the motivation to work out--I've been stuck at 150 for the past 4 months!! I can't get the last 25lbs off!! I haven't seen you on baby center lately! How's Aislinn doing??

    No I haven't had a whole lot of time to get out and exercise-- since my oldest is only 2 its a bit hard. I usually go for a walk with Brooke after dinner and then I strength train at night once everyone in the house is asleep. That way I have the tv to keep my mind off of the idea that I'm working out. LOL How about you?
