I turned 50 in May and I weigh the most I have ever weighed. I didn't even get very heavey with all of my pregnancy's (137. tops). All the help in the world can't do what I'm unwelling to do for myself!

There is a saying that fits me for the last couple of years:
If nothing changes, then nothing changes!
I will sometimes get an attitude of defeatism. I'll feel that I have put so much weight on, that I will never get it back off. That emotion is so hurtful to have about myself. Right after that emotion surfaces, self-pity takes a set beside it. They make themselves very comfortable and plan on being around for a while. Have you ever been around someone where thier self-pity was oozing from every pour? They are not a fun lot to be around. That can be me at times, so self-conscious of how I look. Well...no more! I'm done with wishing or denying this away. I am responsible for my health, I am the only one who can change me!

My Goals:
My goal is to feel good and be able to move this body without all of the strain. I have always stayed around 2olbs. my normal weight since I was a teenager. So to be turning 50 in May and this heavy, makes me sorta dreeding my golden yrs if nothing changes within me. I want to be healthy enough to run and play with my grandkids. Not just watching them play without me. One of my other goals is to be there for other women who are strugglig with thier weight and other issues too. For us all to share our experence, hope and praise!

My Program:
First to meet my goals, I have to begin each day with a breakfast. I have never been an eater in the mornings but I know what not having a breakfast does to me. I love to walk so I want to find a walking buddy or two or three. I hate (very strong word but fits) the treadmill. I'd rather be outside. Living in Florida gives me the opportunity to be out almost all year. I also want to do the weight training. I have the weights, I just need to pick them up.

Personal Information:
My name is Connie LaRue. I was born in Rexburg, Idaho. I lived in Idaho Falls, Id. most of my life until I fell in love with a southern guy. Married and moved to the south 12 years ago. I love living here...no more snow!! We are currently living in Jacksonville, Fl. and I enjoy it. The beach and ocean, 2 of the 10 grandkids live here too. Yes, I have 10 grandkids and 5 grown kids. They are all the light of my life. I am a Christian totally in love with Christ!! He has blessed me with a wonderful life, even the hard times and the ones that I can't understand why I have to go through. But within all of the times, I get to grow and I get to know my Lord that much more. I am a beautician thats not working for money anymore but one can't get totally out of doing hair..lol. So most of the time I am a housewife to my husband and a Mom to my little Yorkie, Gracie Mae. I do service work and try to be there for others. I absolutely love being a young grandma. I want to be around to dance at my

    Hi Connie:

I am a Yorkie mom wannabe. My husband wants to get me one, but we can't afford one now. Was going to get one, but we bought a house in October 2006 and it has turned into the money pit. LOL Not that bad, just your basic nightmare. Especially when you have rented all your life. You get everything repaired for you. Now my husband is the handyman and he's not real good at it. LOL Anyway this is what he wanted. Something that was all ours and he could work on it and do what ever he wanted. I told him the other day after he put in a new water heater and he was replacing the kitchen sink faucet, "well, you got what you asked for." He wasn't amused. ; ) It's nice meeting you. By the way, I have grandsons. Three. They are 9, 14, & 18. Oh my gosh! My daughter saw fit to make me a grandma at the age of 39. I was unsure at first, but when he was born, he was the light that lit my dark room I had been in for a long time. Take care and maybe we will be able to chat again. Have a great journey here at SP. I'm fairly new here too and I can tell you everyone here are very wonderful and genuine people.

    God bless,
    Donna
