I have been fighting the battle of the bulge to some extent since I was a teenager, and although I have never felt I won the war, I always felt I had a fighting chance. That is, until I hit 40. Then all of a sudden, my metabolism just disappeared. No matter what I did, it seemed like I couldn't shed an ounce, yet if I dared eat a bit of junk food or dessert, I would immediately gain. I joined the BLC in the hopes it would give me the push I needed to finally lose the weight before I hit 50.

The progress has been painstakingly slow, but at least finally there has been some progress. I didn't hit the goal by 50, but I honestly believe now that I can do it by 51.

I am probably healthier now than I have ever been in my life, so now I just need to make the outside picture match how I am feeling inside. Piece of cake! Oops, make that piece of celery!!!!

Fitness Minutes: 70,009

My Goals:
My goal is to feel absolutely great about how I look by my next birthday!!

My Program:
I just started Chalean Extreme and I'm lovinn it! Other than that, I am always changing it up: Zumba, yoga, wogging, Boot name it, if it's an exercise class I'll probably do it!

Food is a little trickier, but generally no junk food, as little processed food as possible, lots of freggies, and try to only eat when I'm actually hungry.

Personal Information:
I live in Thompson, Manitoba, Canada where the winter is just too darn long! So, where's that global warming everyone's talking about anyway!

Sure makes you appreciate our fabulous summers though!

Other Information:
I have too many interests. I keep thinking I should drop one, but then I don't want to let it go!

Right now I am in the local theatre group, go to Zumba and yoga classes, curl once a week, and try to find some time to spend with my dog. Oh yeah, the hubby is allowed to tag along with us too!

    Are you interested in a Challenge?

    The Biggest Loser goes for 10 weeks. It consists of 10 teams participating in weekly Fitness and Nutrition challenges. The Spring challenge will be getting started the beginning of March. It consists of fitness and nutrition challenges that are often in a form of a game. If for some reason you cannot do a challenge then they are modified to meet your needs. Often we do the challenge in a game form, we have BINGO and TIC TAC TOE or seasonally themed. For Winter we had Help Santa Fill His Sleigh, Run Rudolf Run and Super Bowl.     You are SO right about the 40s and metabolism - I used to be able to eat anything, anytime, and I was a stick. Now, not so much! I've always read women are more confident about their bodies in their 40s...I'm 48 and I'm waiting for that to happen!

    I receive much wise counsel through the Holy Bible. Scripture is full of wisdom for all, whether they are a believer or not. Here is the wisdom I receive today as I prepare for April's focus on developing a willingness that makes me able to succeed:

    Isaiah advises us, "For thus the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said, 'In repentance and rest you will be saved, In quietness and trust is your strength.' But you were not willing" ~ Isaiah 30:15.

    We miss out on good things in life when we are unwilling to cooperate in doing what is needful for achieving the good we desire. God through Isaiah tells us that our consenting to cooperate with laws, rules, guidelines, etc., leads to our eating "the best of the land" (Isaiah 1:18-20). Willingness to do what we must for what we want is a necessary mindset for overcoming temptation and the failure to achieve. Develop a willingness to do what it takes within the boundaries of what is good, right, and true, and you will go far in life.
