My story is typical; grow up, get to work, gain weight over time, get married, gain more weight, eat out regularly, stress, dislike my body, stress, stress and more stress without healthy release, no exercise and certainly no concept of fueling an efficient body. Any attempt at weight loss failed me and I couldn't seem to crack the code to my body and make it do what I wanted.

It wasn�t until I got extremely sick at 37 and found myself facing exploratory surgery that I started to understand just how horrible my decisions in regards to food, stress, exercise, smoking and even my relationships had been for me and my health.

I will forever be grateful for that 21 day hospital stay because it gave me an awful lot of time to think - really think. I will never be the same for I made a vow I would never ever be weak and powerless again. That was May 2008 and I've never looked back.

My Goals:
Three years ago I met my goal weight and have watched my goal body unfold in front of my eyes. The biggest surprise in reaching my goal weight was how many layers of acceptance I had on it. Part of me just couldn't believe I'd actually done what I'd never been able to do before.

My Program:
Funny how I have to keep updating this field.. evolution in action! So today, August 2014 I've started playing with carb cycling and I'm falling madly in love with it as I truly understand that carbs are crucial, but also a slippery slope. Macros are everything it seems!

Personal Information:
I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest near Olympia, Washington.

Other Information:
Ladies.. please please please pick up some weights and add it to your routine. I cannot stress weight bearing exercise enough, especially for us women. Just trust me on this one.. ;) I plan on aging as gracefully as I can and the strength training is a crucial part of this plan. Our bodies NEED the stress of weight bearing exercise just as much as the cardio. Besides, when you're all skinny you want muscle there to fill in the looser skin you may or may not have. Muscles are SEXY. I swear. :)
