Five almost six years have gone by since I last used Sparkpeople. I wrote the following so long ago, "HI, I am a 41 year old mother of three, married and really hoping to lose just over 100 pounds. "
I don't know what happened, but I fell away fro using this fabulous tool for far too long. I have gained back all the weight I lost earlier PLUS more. I will be turning 47 in 4 months and I am scared! I need to make this work or I wont be here for as long as I want to be.

A quote I just love:

Behold the turtle. He only makes progress when he sticks his neck out.

Know thyself means this, that you get acquainted with what you know, and what you can do.
Original Goals
Starting Weight June 24, 2008 264 lb
Goal Weight May 2010 170 lb (Son's graduation)
5 lbs lost July 21. 2008 259 lb
10 lbs lost August 11, 2008 254 lb
15 lbs lost April 6, 2009 245 lb
Fell off the wagon so to speak...Maintained for a year then gained 17 pounds in last few months. So I am back at it. I am really motivated this go round,more determined than ever. Instead of setting my goal as high as the original, because I know it would not be healthy for me to do so, I attempting to lose 45-50 pounds by May, again for my son's High School graduation.
Staring weight Jan1, 2010 262
5 lbs lost Mar. 2 2010 250.5
10 lbs lost July 10, 2010 247.5
Setting another new goal today April 23,2015:
I want to lose the weight I have gained since I last posted on here...40 pounds. My weight today was 281.5 pounds. That's sad! Here's to working on making the change and it lasting this time!
Starting Weight: 281.5
5 lbs lost

##################This Day is Mine#####################
The value of this day is impossible to measure, for it will never come again. I do not wish to regret its passing.

What I do today is up to me and no one else. I can use it to good advantage or squander it away. The choice is mine.

I will try to make my day one of:
Success rather than failure;
Satisfaction rather than frustration;
Joy rather than pain;
Laughter rather than tears;
Contentment rather than worry;
Love rather than hate.

In conlcusion, my brothers, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise;things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely and honorable.

My Goals:
Ultimate goal is to be healthy. I would like to lose a bit over 100 pounds. Secondary goal is to live longer than my parents, who both passed away at very young ages...well in my mind they were young.

My Program:
*meet my calorie goal
*burn 1,200 calories a week in exercise
*drink 8 glasses of H20 daily
*track my food and fitness daily

Personal Information:
I live in northeast missouri in a very small rural town. I am married and the mother of 3 wonderful children ages 17,13 and 7.

Other Information:
I love to read. I read 3-5 books a week...sometimes more. I fit it in when the rest of my family is watching tv...soemtimes i read while watching too! I also love to read to my daughters. The 13 year old doesn't like to think of it as abeing cool, but everytime i start reading to the 6 year old, she creeps into the room and listens in. This fills my heart with great joy! I like all kinds of music. My favorite actors areJohn Wayne and Julia Roberts.
I love to watch movies. Before all my weight gain, I loved doing crafts, but now it is difficult for me to enjoy any of them...more mental than physical.

    Hi BJ,
    I happened to be looking at the team leader's page of Can't do it alone and saw the beautiful framed phrases and picture of roses in the left hand corner of your page. You know just less than 15 minutes ago I left the very same status statement on my page .I will take it one day at a time. BJ I just joined recently and am trying to get acclimated to the entire website.
