My name is Cindy. I am a wife, mom, college student and respite worker. I am constantly on the go with caring for the house, the kids, my studies and now work. I am learning to find balance in life. I tend to be a sort of all or nothing person and jump into things quickly and with a lot of gusto.

When I had my first child, 20 years ago, I devoted all my energy to raising my son, then my daughters came along, and well the cycle of putting others first was firmly in place. Although my kids are older, I am still put them and their activities and social lives first. If I want to go through with my promise to be one of the world's greatest grandparents, I need to start putting myself first and get myself healthy.

And so, I begin my journey with SparkPeople. Learning to balance life's responsibilities and joys and get myself fit and healthy in the process. This is going to take some time, and is not going to happen all at once, but I am in it for the long haul. I can do this!
