This journey is about no longer accepting my obesity - yes - call it what it is, lack of physical fitness, and lack of energy as acceptable. It's about bringing self-control, activity, and healthy eating habits into my life and dealing with the emotional eating that brought me here.

I had been doing really well with SparkPeople and was down to 188 - but then after the death of my dad, I really let myself go, gave into other stresses, had a hysterectomy and then my weight crept up pretty quickly. My thyroid's been all over the place and now I've had a wakeup call with severe sleep apnea and the strain on my heart, so I'm finally getting serious again about improving my health. I've been working 2-3 jobs for the past 15 years. That's going to stop.

It's so hard to keep focused though -- and that's where SparkPeople comes in. I really appreciate the food tracking program.

My Goals:
I'd like to be under 200 by Jan 1 - trying to do the "steady & slow" wins the race thing.

The other goals I'm working on accomplishing are the internal ones - the mindset and habits that got me here.


My Program:
.I like to read - but I'm trying to get hooked on exercise - I've got a lot of exercise DVD's and like Chalean's the most -- TurboFire & Chalean Extreme -- but face it - I have a stack and now have them racked by my tv. I also started spinning -- and that works up a good sweat. I hae a heel spur so I have to work around that, but it's possible.

    Thanks for the post. I would be happy to support you during the Shred Diet. I am in week 2. I weigh in on Wednesdays. I have a feeling the 3rd week will be challenging, but am doing well so far. I think Dr. Ian knows we will not following it 100%, and so it still works even when we are not perfect. emoticon

    Thank you for the comment.I have tried so many diets that its not funny. I can never find anything that I WANT to stick to very long , but i have never done a group thing before so i'm hoping that this will help me.I think my biggest problem is that i have o energy and i stay tired so therefore i don't want to do anything. But i have finally got to the point where enough is enough this isn't right so do something about it angela.If you have any tips please pass them this way. And again thank you for the comment ,you are the first person to comment me.Oh i have started something that could be a way to keep me on track.I went and bought a glass jar and some pretty stones to put in for evry pound i lose.Do you think that would work for very long?
