My goal is to loose 140lbs by 1-9-2010. I need to burn about 950 cal. per day. I also need to lower my blood pressure and cholestrol.
Second goal is to be able to drive again of 8 yrs. After neck surgery left me disable with a damaged nerve on my left side. There are more goals to reach but I'll take them one day at atime.

I'm 54, I'll be 55 on March 10, 09.
I was born in Selma, AL, raised up in California, moved to Phoenix, AZ. Went to Phoenix Union High, and Phoenix College. I lived in Japan,Maryland, Enid,OK and liked Oklahoma decided to stay. So I moved toEdmond, OK where I reside now.
Been married to the same man for 30 yrs. Had two boys(Lost my oldest son in 2002); have 3 grandsons.

My interest are sewing, knitting, reading, all type of puzzles, playing card games, mah jong, walking, traveling, working in my flower garden. Unfortunately some of these I can't do any more., but i want give up.

My weight have been fluxating up and down most of my life. My last three weight trickers was when I had surgery on my neck that left me with nerve damage which lead up to other problems my looseing my job, end up disable and not able to drive(haven't drove in 8 yrs). It just added to fibromyalgia, chronic pain syndrome, degenerative bone disease in my spine, knees, shoulders.
Second tricker was when I lost my son in 2002.
Third tricker was when I lost my mother on my Birthday, March 10,04, while holding her in my arms.

I heard about Sparkpeople on TV. I like what I saw and read. The people I've met on Sparkpeople and the Sparkpeople Teams are awsome.
I love how I can keep track of all my goals without the hassle. Especially how I can plan my meals.

I have been on a yoyo mostly due to health problems but now that I know what Sparkpeople can do for me and how helpful everyone are there is no stopping me.

Thanks everyone for your support.
Come and visit me sometime.

I saw a posting of yours on a thread.....about how hard it is to get out of bed in the morning.
Same here......but I found something that really helps 'lubricate' the knees and other joints, and now I can get out of bed with very little pain.

I wake very early.....and while I'm still in bed, in the dark, I started doing leg lifts. I alternate 60 each leg twice; once with foot relaxed, once with foot flexed. Then I do 30 each (2x) knee flexes, with my leg off the mattress. I stretch my legs up and out and hold for 10 seconds.
I stretch my neck and my arms.

This all takes about 20 minutes and gets my heartrate up a little (cardio) and loosens up the joints. Of course I didn't start at this rate--I worked up to it over a couple of months. It's automatic now, and very relaxing. It's still early when I'm I burrow back into the pillows and rest until it's time to get up and walk the dog.

I really recommend some exercise in bed to relieve morning stiffness and pain.

I hope you don't mind the suggestions. Hope you're feeling great!
    And Happy New Year!~

emoticon Ooooh, I regret that it's taken awhile emoticon to officially say hello emoticon , but I promise I had good reasons (explained below)!

emoticon you for commenting on my April 5, 2010 daily Spark, "Envisioning Your Future with a Collage and Some Friends." It IS fun! Did you end up looking into it?

I've added you as Friend, and look forward to learning about your Vision Collage journey since then...or, if life's been too busy, of offering my hand and inviting you to take that next step this autumn, through my favorite Vision Collage medium, SoulCollage®.

emoticon As another enthusiastic Sparker, I have a special offer created with you in mind!

I'm in the process of planning ongoing, online (probably monthly) workshops for SoulCollage® Life Vision card-making and card-journaling in community emoticon , ideally with an online classroom so we have live access to one another for that block of a few hours. My goal is to mirror the actual workshops I have facilitated in person. The difference is, in the Spirit of SparkPeople, these workshops are free! emoticon Monthly groups are by sign-up, so there is no obligation.

SoulCollage® through the venue of SparkPeople is so exciting to the community that we have the enthusiastic support of author Seena Frost and her staff. emoticon On top of THAT, KaleidoSoul creator (and Sparker) Anne Marie Bennett asked to co-lead emoticon our SparkSoulCollage® this time around. emoticon

Okay, okay, I've been MIA emoticon after jumping into the Spark pool last year in spring emoticon . But, hey, a baby arrived emoticon (grandson) who needed "daycare," so my absence has been honorable (and fun!). On top of that, I've recently rescued a Golden Retriever emoticon . I call them my two golden B-Boys (Brock and Bradyn).

Please, please say I can count you in! emoticon (I equally welcome hearing if it is not a fit right now. I promise: No judgment or tears emoticon .)

emoticon Regardless of where your path leads, I hold you in affection and wish the best for you.
    emoticon Sue
