Fine-tuning, joy, balance, graciousness....all gifts I have been given and thrown away. It is with new hope that I share my journey with my fellow travelers. 2011 is a new page but it is not blank. It is full of gifts not yet opened; growth not yet seen; grace underserved and yet poured out; times of falling that I will get up again from...

I started my quest to get healthy after years of battling numerous health issues and a slow metabolism..I am 31 now and an avid runner, biker, kayaker, skiier, hiker, swimmer (terrible at this but love flipping around in the water), golfer...anything that takes me outside and keeps me active. It took me 2 years (2003-2005) to lose 120 pounds and I have been keeping it off while letting a few pounds creep back....that started my downhill spiral to be up 30lbs from where I was. I have the exercise part down, now I need the food issues outta here! I am a financial advisor with a phenomenal husband and finding balance between the duties and joys of life...

2010 gave me a gift of refocus. A time to stop wallowing in the mire and muck I poured over myself and to be full of strength and truth and the vivaciousness I was created with. 2011 is my year to fine-tune those gifts and give all my fear and trembling over to God who ultimately holds me and my destiny in His hand. Each day is a gift that I can choose to waste with fear or live out to be a contribution. With His help; I choose HOPE.

Original goal: 135 by Christmas 2010 (completed with zig-zags and holiday eating!12/2010)

1. Find balance between food & activity
2. Reclaim my love of cooking and baking and being Sicilian without focusing on food
3. Realize what is true hunger versus just wanting a taste.
5. Help others who have more than 100 pounds to loose.

My Program:
1. Run 10miles every other day.
2. Eat 1,200 calories a day
3. Strength training 2-3x a week
4. Incorporate another physical activity in the evenings or weekends (kayaking, biking, hiking, skiing,,,)
5. Trusting God for the good in my life and through the struggles
