Hi, I'm Carmel (My screen name is a character from my favourite book series, lol) and I'm 26. I have gained at least 50 pounds since I've gotten married five year ago and it's got to stop! I've struggled with my weight all my life and I just decided that now is the time to make the change and I can do this!! I have over 100 pounds to lose, but I know with time and motivation, I can and will do it! I'm very lucky to have a family and husband who support me and encourage me. I am so thankful to Spark People for all the tools, nutrition and meal planners and motivational material! I am an internet junkie, so this is great for me! I can't wait to see what I look like by Christmas of 2009!

My Goals:
To be under 200 pounds by the end of the year if possible, to have more energy and to fit into clothes that are a size 14 or smaller.

My Program:
Following Spark People meal plans
Drinking 8 glasses of water per day
Cutting out pop
Exercising at least three times a week to start
Walking and doing my exercise videos

Personal Information:
I am from Orlando, Florida but I now reside in Ontario, Canada where I am a permanent Resident. I currently am a manager at a fast food restaurant and that makes it harder for me, but I am going to start packing lunches.

Other Information:
Favourite books- The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. I also enjoy books by Dean Koontz, L.M. Montgomerey, J.K. Rowling and Jane Austen.

I love movies, books, singing and dancing.

    My dear friend. you probably are wondering where i have been hiding.... And its not a good excuse but its the truth so hear it goes.. the last few weeks i have been reading the post in my groups and find myself getting more and more discouraged then motivated. some of these groups seem to be running like a highschool where there are a group of leaders and everyone else s opinions just dont matter. maybe its just me who feels that way but it has been making it considerably harder for me to log on here often. we are supposed to come here for support not to see who can read the most spark articles and who has the highest soap box to stand on. When i first joined spark over a year ago it was such positive atmosphere and now i feel just a crap load of negativity going on. on the up side im still going good. i dont know if i have lost any weight as i am only weighin in once a month so i dont get addicted to the scale. but i am still on track and feeling well. Im so excited that ur getting a tattoo. im addicted since my very first one. i have gotten 1 every 6 months for the last 2 years and will be gettin another here in march! i hope your tattoo experience will be a good one and that you feel on top of the world for earning your new piece of art. I promise to check my spark page more often. even if im not logging on to the groups and i will do my best to be a better friend. if you have msn messenger and would like to chat on there some time as well that will be great. I hope to chat with you soon.

    I think I have the same pedometer as you...does it have rhinestones on it? I got mine from Avon...We all slip up, I had chinese from the food court last week...but don't let it get you is a new week. Keep it up, we can do this!

    Hey hun! Just dropping by, I lost 3lbs this week. I was pretty excited when I stepped on the scale. Super cold here, so walking outside is almost unbearable, plus people don' t shovel or salt the sidewalks. went roller skating last night...was a blast and is a great cardio, well I got called into work on my day off so I better actually to you soon and keep up the good work!

    Just stopping by to see how things are going for you! Hope the allergies are starting to go away - I know they can totally affect someones mood.

    Ive just decided to revamp my approach to the weight loss since I am horrible at keeping track of all the calories, fat, etc I'm going to do WW points system again for awhile.
