Yes, we do have one of the premiere epidemiology / infectious disease centers up at UNMC in Omaha. They jump in where ordinary hospitals may well fear to tread, treating ebola a few years ago, and now Covid19. They studied the passengers brought back from the Diamond Princess cruise ship (I think that's the right one... the one that was in Japan), keeping 13 of them up in their special rooms, and studying how the virus spread, and what treatments might work. They were on board with the remdesivir study early, too. So when the announcement came from Fauci, that there is some promise in the results, enough to start giving the treatment to those who had been on placebo, I trust the study was done right.

Yeah, we will be OK, I hope. But... and there's always this big but when dealing with invisible enemies... time will tell. And I'm hoping most of us keep taking precautions. I think you're in good hands out there in CA, too. Health conscious and smart folks, following the science!

I have three "tie" type masks that a friend here in town made for me. All cotton tight weave prints. We were Brownie Scouts together in the 1950's and 60's, if you can imagine! Out of the blue one day she asked for my address and dropped them off on my porch! Kind of like a friend I have half a continent away?

Anyway, I also use some "buffs" from my triathlon days, and I have two with elastic ear loops on order from my favorite running store... we'll see if that web transaction worked! I figured if they ever do open up hair salons here, they will do it like they are in other places and require both clients and stylists to be masked. My tie masks won't work for a haircut!

So, whenever all three tie masks have been used once apiece, I do a small load of laundry in hot water to make sure they are ready for the next outing!

Bets, There are always two sides of the story...Yes, your description of out there is real, but as you said, I tend to look at the brighter side of life. After all, with what is happening out there, I would hate to add to the misery.

What a kind thought! But I scored today with the coconut mocha coffee! Still, that macadamia nut mocha sounds awesome. I've never seen that around here!

One thing these "substitutions" and rolling shortages have done for many of us is force us to try something new. I have discovered a new dishwasher detergent, in the process. Still not sure I like the liquid soap they substituted, as I seem to think it dries my skin out more. Oh, well... it's a learning adventure, right?

Have a great Friday & thanks again for thinking of me! Must be a hard time for you as well with anniversaries of loss?
