The weight's been creeping back on, particularly after I had my gall bladder out last summer. Time to stop gaining and move the extra off before it gets too settled and happy.

update 1-19-2013
Again. I'm back at a point where the extra weight is very uncomfortable. I have tried eating mindfully without careful watching, but that only works for awhile for me. So I guess I'm back watching carefully, stopping when it's time to stop and really, I need to pick up my exercise program again. My experience is that I need to do both food management and exercise for successful weight management. I just have to do it.

Update 1-3-2010 -- My weight loss has been stalled for a while now, so it's time to get back to concentrating on eating carefully and making sure I get my exercise in. I've joined the bootcamp team for the January bootcamp and I am ready to roll. My first goal is to track my food, even the foods I don't want to admit that I'm eating and to get my exercise. Then I will fade the foods I shouldn't be eating as much of.

Update 7-8-2009 -- since January (before I joined SP) -- I've lost 10% of my body weight! I still have 12 pounds to go in my current goal and I'm going to do that, but I do feel better and my clothes fit better and I know I'm heading in the right direction.

About my dog, he's a Welsh Corgi. He has a tail, so we pass him off as a Cardigan. But since he's a rescue, we don't know for sure -- he could be a Corgi-Corgi mix. He's a great walking partner. And those are my hands and legs in the background -- I was quite a bit thinner then than I am now.

My Goals:
I'd like to lose 30 pounds. I've weighed less and I like the look, but maintenance was fiercely hard.

My Program:
I'm eating less and exercising more. I've cleared all the foods that call to me from the kitchen. I work out at the gym, I walk to work when I can, I walk the dog. I'm trying to eat real food and less processed foods.

It's working for me!

I lost 90 pounds during 2002-3. In 2005, I hurt my back and my exercise program came to a halt. I was just building that up again when my gall bladder announced it was full of stones. Post surgery, I put on about 15 pounds (ok, maybe 20 pounds). So now, I want all that gone. And then some. Life was more comfortable when I was thinner.

    How is it going for you with SparkPeople and weight control? I have tried just not worrying too much about what I eat. I invariably gain weight when I do that. So I'm back on Spark again. Sigh. This time I'm trying SparkCoach, which really seems to help me focus more. I hope I can stick with it.

    I really enjoyed looking at your quilt pictures! I am a sometimes quilter. I need to get back into it, because I have several projects in mind. It's just hard to get STARTED sometimes. :)

    Our Cocker Spaniel loves tulips, too! She can even smell them in the ground before/after they sprout up and she will dig up the bulbs and eat them. There are lots of tulips at this new house, so I've been watching her closely. We don't have a fence, so I'm not planning on a veggie garden - I'm sure the deer would have a hay day with it! Thanks for commenting on the sewing room - I think it will work out well. emoticon
