Old Spark Plug back at it.

I was on SparkPeople 14 years ago or so and loved the community and support, as well the innumerous resources. I wasn't very successful then, nor was I very committed. My mindset is different this time.

I never lost baby weight and now the babies are grown and gone and the weight has to go too.

My Goals:
There was a time when I walked 4 miles every morning before work. I would like to get back to a walking regimen. I enjoyed it so much and I know what benefits await.

My Program:

1. Wake Up !! Make the choice to have a good day and live a healthier lifestyle!

2. Dress Up !! The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

3 . Learn!! Read as much as you can and gain knowledge about living a healthier lifestyle!

4. Stand Up!!..... For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything.

5. Look Up !!.. to your next goal and reward. What do you need to do in order to meet or exceed that goal?

6. Reach Out !!... by encouraging others and being supportive in their times of need.

7. Lift Up !!.. Your this journey is not only about your body and weight loss but the changes with your mind and soul too!

8, Get moving !! ... Find ways to incorporate exercise into your daily routine. Sneak in as much exercise as possible!

Personal Information:
I am a 58 yo, single, female professional. I have 2 grown young men that call me mom. And 3 little dogs that bark me master. I bought a new home and started a new career 2 and 3 years ago respectively.

Other Information:
I enjoy gardening, photography, writing and just being in the moment.

    I know it can seem overwhelming here at first with all the people and things going on, but it is ok. Even if there are lots of responses to posts or something, jump in if you have something to add. You never know how you may help. Work your way into things at your pace, though. This is your journey.     I couldn't weigh myself all week last week being here at the office, 24/7, however, when I got on scale Monday morning, I am down 5 lbs! I'm so inspired. emoticon

    Hope you are off to a great start this week. I'm trying to be very mindful about my eating because on Thanksgiving I don't want to have to obsess about stuff. I just keep thinking if I get through the next few weeks then I'll have some pie. I know it's not the best strategy to think of food as a "reward" but I'm not willing to sacrifice Thanksgiving rolls and pies lol.

    Last night I logged food on my tracker for my husband and my son so they could have their eyes open as to what they are actually consuming. Then I made them watch a little video about how awful soda and sugar is for you. I MIGHT have them convinced to try to change a few of their eating habits. It made me think of how important it is simply to just pay attention to labels and serving sizes and what we are eating. I spent way too much of my life just ignoring it but it feels good to care and control it.
