I have never been a skinny girl. I always had a little extra fat. I was never teased for my weight. I stayed pretty active throughout my childhood and high school years. I played every sport I had access, basketball, softball, tennis. Once high school was over I was glad to finally have a break from all of that. Now I regret that I've lost my momentum. I got so engrossed in full time college and part time work that I didn't understand how I could possibly throw in some exercise. I continued to eat how I used to yet with no physical activity. So all that added up pretty quickly into stress pounds.

I've been with my fiancee since we were 16 years old. He proposed in July of 2013. Even after his proposal and setting the date, I still had no motivation to go workout. I found that if I just depended on myself, I wouldn't go. I would find other things to do with that time. The people around me were also making it difficult to stick to any healthy eating. We would all go out to eat for fun or get together to cook.

Finally, two of my closest friends decided to join the YMCA. They convinced me to join with them. That was the best decision for my health so far. That was when I realized that I truly needed other people depending on me in order to have the motivation to workout. Going to the Y feels just like it used to in high school. I get the feeling of a group setting and it really pushes me to go harder. Now I've gotten to the point where I go there on my own and don't need my friends or fiancee there with me always. I'm LOVING my progress. I never even tried running two miles all together before. Now I can run up to six miles in 39 minutes. Each time I go I set a new goal and prepare my mind to reach it. It's so gratifying!

I got that gym membership in January 2014. My wedding is November 2014. We are taking our family with us on a cruise and getting married on a beach in St. Thomas. I am SO excited! One thing that would thrill me beyond belief is if I could wear a bikini on that trip. That will be one of the biggest moments in my life, and one of the biggest transitions as well. It will be so much sweeter if I could feel so comfortable with myself that I can be in that bikini and not so self conscious. I've never worn a bikini in my adult life :)

That's where my page title comes from...I don't feel like I look completely gigantic. But the self doubt and self consciousness affects all parts of my life. That's the number one thing I hope to achieve in my weight loss journey. I want to develop a stronger self-love. I want to wear whatever I want and not think twice about it. I would love to go for a run in just my sports bra and not always feel like I need to cover up. Same goes for the whole swimsuit thing. I want to look forward to a pool party or going to the beach instead of dreading it. That's how I will know that I've made it...when I don't have to be wondering how I look.

As far as how much I want to lose, that isn't a set number. I've never actually followed through with a weight loss program. I've never tested my body as to what it can do. I am 200 pounds right now. I am 5'7''. My normal range would be within 130-160 pounds. I think I would be happy at 150 pounds. However, I would like to see where my body could the healthiest way possible. The number in my head has always been 125 pounds. If I reach 135 and I start looking unhealthy I don't think I would push for the 125. But I'm excited to see myself in a way I've never seen before. I am already practicing some patience with myself. I can do this!

My Goals:
*Get in the healthy weight range for my height, 5'7''
--That means a weight loss of 40-70 more pounds (2/17/14)
*Love and respect myself

Long Term:
*Wear a bikini, and rock it!
*Feel comfortable enough to run in just a sports bra
*Run in an organized race

My Program:
-I am now recently done with college and began a full time job. Time management is a must!

-Schedule time to workout at least four of the five weekdays, or as much as possible.

-Wake up early to pack all of the food and snacks I'll need for the day. Then I won't be tempted by the unhealthy stuff that surrounds me.

-Log in all food on my tracker in the morning so I know how many calories I have left for dinner.
