So I was checking my email - something I don't do everyday since smart phones and texting came along - turns out I'm SparkPeople's motivator of the day.

For what I accomplished almost 10 years ago!

My first thought was "good grief, they have picked the wrong person"
you see, I've gained back the 100+ pounds that I worked so hard to lose, in fact I'm 20 pounds heavier than when I started. Ten years ago, I never thought it would happen to me. I was committed, and I was successful.

Until I wasn't.

As the weight slowly crept back on, I struggled to stay on track. Until I gave up.

Through the years, I've attempted to get my Spark back, but honestly I never gave it my all. I am literally in a different place in my life, one that makes it harder than it was when I was ten years younger.
But being reminded today of how powerful I once was gives me the hope that I CAN do this again.
So being selected as Motivator of the Day hopefully will motivate others in their struggle, but ultimately it has motivated ME.

Thank you SparkPeople for selecting me as MOTD, and reminding me how powerful I can be!

here I am, restarting my journey to lose 150 pounds.

6/23/19 I'm 60 years old, married for 39 years, mom to two adult daughters, Grammie to a three year old grandson.

I'm an avid crafter. I knit, spin my own yarn, make pysanky eggs, getting started in lampworking glass beads. None of which burn many calories!

we retired to the beautiful mountain of north Georgia in 2014. I love having a taste of all four seasons!

    If you want/need a little push...consider joining us for an 9 week challenge.

    Why not join the X-WEIGHTED CHALLENGE? We're all ages, all fitness levels, all striving to live a healthier life. There is always something to learn from each other. These teams are also a great source of motivation! We can become healthier by working together and making new friends as we go. We compete in weekly nutrition and fitness challenges. It is similar to the Biggest Loser team. There are 3 teams that compete within the X-Weighted team. We do ATC (All Teams Challenge) various challenges (nutrition, fitness etc.) The main requirement is to post your weight weekly. The ATC challenges and/if individual teams have challenges are optional (however, very beneficial). If you have any questions, please let me know.

    I always check TMOTD and many times they pick people who haven't been here in years, so I'm glad you decided to come back. Read my Spark page, as I've been here nearly 12 yrs so you might remember me. I know Sparks does NOT encourage medication, but it certainly has been a godsent for me. My blood sugar was 115 and I got on Metformin and a weekly shot of Bydureon and it is 100 now.

    Do find an endocrinologist or internist who understands obesity and get help because at our age it is difficult.
