Yes, I have issues with staying committed, but now I have to commit to a whole new way of living. I did quite well with KETO, until I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease. Apparently, I've been living with it for quite some time - just was not aware of it. That being said, my lifestyle contributed to the progression of the disease. I was also diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2003 and in 2008, Non Age Related Macular Degeneration was thrown into the mix.

Having spent the better part of yesterday at the ER, I knew it was time to really take stock of my past choices and to begin preparing to make better ones from here on out.. This presents a whole new set of challenges to me if I would like to continue my "Weight loss Journey and watch the foods that are restricted. A new awareness that I just hope and pray I can manage to stay on top of. This should be interesting, but I need to get to a health weight to alleviate the problems associated with the kidney disease. So as I research and experience, I would like to take a moment to tell you that whatever plan you choose, stay healthy and and don't give up. There are plenty of Sparkers to help ease you along, so don't worry about those who are only in it for themselves. Those of us who do care about your success as well as our own are living here withing the pages of SP and wish you great success. Treat yourself well and stay committed to a healthy new you.

My Goals:
To learn how to manage my array of chronic diseases while I learn to manage to llose weight
Get moving in some way EVERY day and celebrate the fact that I am able to do so.
Making regular visits to the Spark, tracking all I eat and drink
Sharing my experience with the new friends I make along the way.

My Program:
Learn all I can about the "Kidney Diet" and follow it.
Eat healthy and drop the unhealthy pounds.
Offer encouragement whenever possible.

Personal Information:
Now living on the far northwestern end of the Florida Panhandle, just a mile away from the southen Alabama border. I moved here a little while back from the Tampa Bay area, where I had spent 22 years. We will be moving onto 10 acres and for the first time in 3+ years I'll be living alone in my own home. My son and his family will be on the acreage ... but in their own home.

I am originally from Philadelphia, PA. Yes, I love the Flyers & Phillies more than I could ever say and miss being there for the excitement of Philly Sports. I tried to make the Buccaneers, Rays & Lightening my primary favorite teams, but just couldn't turn my back on the Eagles, Phillies & Flyers.

I am 65 y/o, retired. I like to read, play on the computer and watch a lot of TV (way too much TV).
I like the beach but rarely get there because even though I live in Florida, it's just a little too far away. I don't know what else to say here, but if you would like to know more, just send me a Spark Mai

Other Information:
I have 3 sons, 1 daughter and 3 beautiful granddaughters, 1 really handsome grandson.
I have Multiple Sclerosis, and 20 years after being diagnosed, I am still learning to live with the challenges it presents. I believe I am making progress.

    September is here.
    September has 30 days.
    What can I do (We Do) in the next 30 days to improve our health and lose a few pounds?
    I am going to start using Stretch Bands and do the SparkPeople 20-Minute Resistance Band Video
    3x a week, because I think I need to build up my muscles a bit.

    What change can you make for September ?
    Even the smallest change can make a difference.!!!
