Heading into Fall 5% Challenge. This will be my 6th, love the things I am learning through these challenges. I have defined goals to help accomplish a 5% weight loss. I am focusing on more discipline and focus with my daily exercise. Staying the course. If you are reading this you really should consider doing a 5% Challenge. I have met some really amazing people to help me along the way. I have been a "sparker" since 2008, left and now return for a re-do. I am going to make this re-do stick. Live and learn!!! I've always been very active person, until I fractured my spine (2013) and it's time to get back to the strong bodied woman I feel inside. I have a custom tattoo, it's my avatar (note pic at your left). Lord knows, I would love to look like that but it's really more about spirit. I have spent my life searching for meaning in life, note the hiker has a compass in her hand. I have lived at times somewhat recklessly (haven't we all?). My compass has taken me to a very comfortable place in life, and I do not want to be sedentary. I want to live life to the fullest until I'm very old and gray. I am back in the fight for my health, and to live the life I want to live without the issue of weight (lose enough to not feel so much knee and back pain) and immobility to contend with! I retired from 30 years as a RN on December 29, 2018. I have many, many little goals in retirement and now that I have started to lose a little weight, my mind has gone berserk. I'm returning to my bucket list. adding things I thought were gone from my future. Bucket list: Learn to scuba dive Scuba dive in Belize or somewhere with great dives Learn to fence (swords) Work trip to Thailand~ DONE FEB. 2019!!! Kayak more places

My Goals:
Long Range GOALS:
Set a goal of 70lbs by my 70th Birthday (November 2019) I think 70 might be too much but we will see how I feel as I get closer.

Short term Goals: Expand the foods I eat, try new healthy items, eat everything sensibly, log all intake and keep calories and macros within ranges set.
Be more discipline and consistent with activity levels. Add one exercise class a week to my current activities. Weight lift 2X's a week. Cardio 6X's a week.

In a nutshell,
Eat everything in moderation.
Be mindful when eating.

Personal Information:
I live just outside of Chicago, with my 2 grown sons. Retirement is fun and for entertainment I, gardening, ride my bike, kayak and just about anything outdoors. I exercise at home and the gym, love to cook (hence the weight issue), doing home repairs and decorating. I am always up for travel and going out to a variety of activities with friends and family .

Other Information:
I'm a Chicago Blackhawks fan. When I refer to HOSSA, it is not the actual hockey player but my German Shepherd dog...a poor substitute. LOL

    Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately, with this silly foot surgery, I do have some pounds to take off once I'm allowed to work out again. I don't have anything at home to use to tone, but once the doc gives the ok, I'll be at the gym doing upper body toning and sporting a super cute air cast on my leg...haha. Thanks for the comment. I can't wait until I'm well enough to jump in and join the challenges with the rest of the ladies! emoticon

    First off let me say that your tattoos are beautiful! The foot one is my fav! Thanks so stopping in to say hi. I haven't officially started on my weight loss goal, i think I need to wait til after christmas or I might just get disappointed and discouraged. Hope you have a great christmas!

    Hi, I was not able to weigh myself this morning but I will be weighing myself tomorrow so hopefully I have will be receiving good news. that last time I weighed myself (last week) I lost 1kg so hopefully I can repeat that this week. though I did have an upset stomach this weekend so that could affect the weight loss I will keep you posted. thanks for you support it is really helpful to my weight loss. do you know the best thing about the weight loss is that people are starting to notice my weight loss and are starting to comment on it even my boyfriend who doesn't notice anything .
