May 2012 - I was away from SparkPeople for quite a long time. I had let my resolve go and gained a bunch of weight back... thus I truly am the Human YoYo. Kisses and hugs to you Sparkies who never gave up on me. I had gained a lot of weight back but then I joined Weight Watchers and have lost a total of 102 pounds. I am so proud! My breast cancer has metastasized into my bones (left humorus, left hip, my spine and my right shoulder). I had surgery in July of 2011 to insert a rod into my humorus (arm) because it was fractured. I take a daily pill called aromasin to block estrogen production and have a monthly treatment of faslodex and xgeva. I feel pretty well, I have cut my pain meds by over 50% and my pain is probably only 25% of what it was. I am very lucky so far because it has been nearly nine months since we discovered these bones mets and it has not spread anywhere else. I have a PET scan in two weeks so keep your fingers crossed. All of that but the most important news is: I am going to be grandma again in October! Older: I made a big change on my page. I decided that on my "Weight Loss Ticker" I would put my original weight from when I started losing although it was before I started Sparkpeople. I am pretty proud of myself. Original: I swear I have lost and gained 2000 pounds in my lifetime. Three years ago I lost 98 pounds and I have gained 54 of it back. At least I am still down the 44 pounds. I have had a super exciting 2009, one daughter got married, one daughter graduated from Medical School and I got married... All in a matter of five weeks! That was the good stuff, then in June i was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a partial mastecomy, four rounds of chemotherapy and thirty three radiation treatments. It wasn't fun but it wasn't horrible. I only missed five days of work so I am pretty proud of myself. If anyone ever has a case of feeling sorry for themselves, they need to go hang out at the chemo room... it will make you realize that no matter how bad you think your life is, someone else's is worse. There was also good stuff during cancer, my granddaughter, Vivienne was born and my stepson got married. It really has been a wonderful year. If I had to get cancer, I am sure glad I got it during such a wonderful time in my life. This fall my stepson got married. My earlier goal was to try to get back into shape so that I look good at his wedding (always want to outshine the ex-wife). Well, needless to say, I wasn't thinner and wore a wig but I still looked better than my husband's ex-wife. Oh, was a petty person I am! I have three wonderful children. My oldest daughter is 36, my son is 29 and my youngest daughter is 28. They are beautiful and kind people. My granddaughter will be 6 in August, my grandson will be 2 in August and my newest granddaughter will be 1 in August. August is a very exciting month! My new wonderful husband is the sunshine of my life. He is good and kind, loves the heck out of me and is the biggest tease in the world. We spent our entire wedding laughing. He was a gem throughout this cancer thing... he was sweet and caring but yet he didn't smouther me with concern. I sure screwed up our honeymoon! Anyway, I want to get to a healthy weight, I want to be able to shop with more choices and I want to look REALLY good in my jeans... So many wants and I am the one to make it happen!

History: Jan 2005: 268 pounds Dec 2007: 170 pounds May 2009: 209 pounds Feb 2010: 222 pounds May 2012: 166 pounds My doctor wants me to try to maintain this weight for a while because of my advanced cancer.

Entering every food I eat into the Nutrition Counter. It is the best tool ever! Using food as nutrition instead of as my drug of choice.

I am a fun chick with three grown children, three grandchildren, a husband, two wonderful sons-in-law, a spoiled dog and a feisty mother-in-law. I love them all so much... however some days, the dog not so much.

I want to be healthy and I want to look as beautiful as my husband thinks I am.
