After being unemployed for eight months, I had put on several pounds that I really didn't need. My size 20 pants were a little snug and I couldn't tie my shoes unless my pants were unzipped. My husband and I took a trip tothe beach and instead of it being romantic, it was embarassing. By the time we got halfway to the beach I was out of breath; same thing with the walk back up to the car. My husband had to help me with my shoes because I was in such bad shape.

I started a new job and within the first week lost 5#'s from all the walking. The end of the second week, I was down 8#'s. I decided this needed to continue and by the end of the third month I had lost nearly 20#'s. The holidays came and I gained back a few pounds, but I wasn't going to beat myself up about it; I was more determined than ever to loose it.

I joined a gym in February and the first couple of weeks, I was lucky to make it 30 minutes before I coudn't take it anymore and had to leave. Now after three full months of gym membership (including a week that I couldn't go because I was sick), I now workout 90 minutes daily Monday through Friday plus strength training two days per wek. Not too shabby for a 50+ woman that needs a knee replacement!!

My Program:
I am eating much healthier. No added sugar, desert once per week, grains once daily, no soda, no gluten.

I am working out at least four days per week at the gym in my office.
