Hey everyone! I have signed up on Sparkpeople.com to make myself more accountable for my fitness and nutrition. I am hoping that it will make me more cognizant of the things I eat and how unhealthy they are. I am on a mission to get past this comfort level weight(as my doctor so eloquently put it)and get back into shape. It's going to be hard work, but I am determined to get healthy and not start down the path to medical problems associated with weight as my father did. I am taking control back of my life and my fitness and nutrition. Sparkpeople is going to be an integral part of my support system for all the day to day frustrations that one deals with while trying to get into shape!
I was 125 pounds when I graduated High School in 1989 and that was 20 years ago this year! It's hard to believe that I let myself gain so much weight over the years, but there have been some very difficult personal tragedies that I've gone through and I have always turned to food for the comfort. Through the death of my daughter, complete breakdown of my marriage a month later, to the loss of both parents...it's all taken its toll on me and I used food to escape and feel better. But, now it's actually just hurt me more and I am sick of feeling tired and run down all the time and always feeling like I have a pretty face, but the the rest of me sucks(which is pretty much what people mean when they give you that...Oh, you have such a pretty face" empty, demeaning compliment)! I don't want to be this weight anymore and I am determined to start living a healthier lifestyle overall in order to achieve and become a me that I can be happy with and proud of from the inside out. I've developed HBP as a result of my weight and I am bordeline diabetic now. I am only 40! That's ridiculous and unacceptable. I don't want to be in the body I have been in anymore. I want to be better and I am not going to let anything stop me this time.

Fitness Minutes: 1,931

My Goals:
-30 minutes of Cardio 5 times a week
-8 glasses of water a day
-NO fried foods.
-Eat more Vegetables/Fruits a day
-Don't stress over little bumps in the road
-Faithfully log everything into my SP daily so I can visibly see what I am eating and doing
-stay FOCUSED on the end result and not lose sight of my goal
-Post supportive comments to fellow SP users as often as possible to encourage them as well as myself
-Make healthy eating/lifestyle FUN!!

My Program:
I need to basically re-learn all of the proper, healthy ways to eat again. It's been a few years since I was focused on exercising and eating less unhealthy foods. It's time to start at the beginning and work my way back to health.

Personal Information:
I'm 40, single and making my way down my own road of life. But, I am tired of having to shop in all the plus shops and not being able to buy all of the adorable and sexy clothing that I see on other women. Like I saw on someone else's page...I'M DONE!!!

Other Information:
I moved back to small town, PA and it's hard to get in the walking like I did living in Philadelphia. I drive to work and sit at a PC all day, so I am pretty stagnant 8-10 hours a day and it's really taken it's toll on me. I was just promoted so I really believe that being healthier is going to help me keep any stresses from affecting me as much.
