Battling the Butterfly
The thyroid is a butterfly shaped master gland located in the front of the neck that controls a bunch of fun biological functions, but especially the metabolism. Mine is currently something more like a butterfly-shaped lump of non-functioning scar tissue thanks to Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism. This is not uncommon. Now I am trying to get it back off again. Fun times!

My Goals:
I would like to get down to 130 pounds by April 1, 2011. I will reevaluate whether I should aim for a bit lower (perhaps 125) or work to maintain at that time. My goal is to lose on average a pound a week (I had my goal date as March 1 a while ago. This was because I had an epic failure to do math!)
Fitness goals: Complete either a full or half marathon in January 2011 for Team in Training. Waiting to see whether or not training for a full 26.2 would be safe (if my coaches say it probably isn't I'll train for a half).
Life Goals:
Pass New Jersey and New York bars. I sat New Jersey in July but for various reasons, I don't feel that great about it. However, there is no harm if I didn't pass, so I am studying hard to prepare for February!
My Program:
1. Track my calories each day on Spark People
2. Run three days a week
3. Do two full body weight workouts a week (split into two upper body days and two lower body days)
4. Yoga whenever can fit it in.
Personal Information:
Age: 30
Gender: Female
Married: To Hubby, 1 year.
Location: New Jersey
Food: We keep kosher and I count my calories.
Pets: I had the most lovely dream that I finally had a cat again last night. :(
Job: My job is to not go mad while I look for a job.
