I have been overweight most of my life, but I am at the heaviest I have ever been and I feel terrible. I know that I need to change, and I want the motivation to change. I figure that signing up here is a fantastic start :)

Fitness Minutes: 1,652

My Goals:
I would like to weight under 190 lbs, for now. My future goal is to weigh around 160 but I figure 185 is a good start. Gotta start somewhere!

I would also like to be able to run 10k, preferably in around an hour.

My Program:
I'm going to start to track my food intake and my exercise, as well as make a journal about how I am feeling. This can help me follow my progress and see if I have any triggers that cause minor (or major) setbacks.

I have Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred, which I absolutely love. It's hard, but this isn't an easy progress! I also enjoy going to the pool and swimming laps, so I am aiming to do that at least twice a week. I am going to try to go to the gym at least twice a week.

Personal Information:
I am from Northern British Columbia, Canada. I am currently attending university to get my B.Sc. in Biology, and hope to go to medical school at UBC one day.

Other Information:
I tend to love movies like Super Troopers, Harold and Kumar, Eurotrip, and things along those lines. I really enjoy thriller/suspense also, as long as the violence in the movie isn't "gore" (think Saw: Yuck).

I enjoy reading when I don't have to have my nose stuck in a textbook. Some of my favorite books are The Kite Runner and The God of Small Things.

Hiking and birdwatching has become a recent hobby of mine. It's exciting to be able to identify a bird you've never seen before :)

    Ugh, I hear you. I'm fretting about all the schoolwork I'm missing. There's this one project in particular that I'm completely helpless to work on from home, because it requires using a special statistical analysis software that is only available on the campus computer labs. I'm supposed to do a presentation, with the analysis all complete, a week from today, and I literally cannot work on it while I'm sick. I'm very nervous. emoticon I might have to ask for an extension. Boo to being sick!
