The Road Goes Ever On.....

I've begun the journey I affectionately call Road to Self Revitalization. What that really means is that i need to get off my behind and start walking a much healthier road.

I'm a 69 year old woman with Type 2 Diabetes and Osteoarthritis. I have one wonderful son and I would like to be a good role model to him. It's never too late to make changes!

My current Path is the Path to Endurance. It includes:

1) Aerobic Activity - Sweat!
2) Strength Training - Yoga
3) Eating & drinking - 5 servings freggies/LOTS of water
4) Sleeping 6 to 8 hours nightly

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.

Fitness Minutes: 175

My Goals:
1) My current weight goal is to be under 210
2) My physical goal is to walk 1 mile without resting
3) My sleep goal is a full night's sleep (6-8 hours)
4) My personal goal is start downsizing.

My Program:
My current physical program is from DAREBEE called Foundation Light. As my endurance builds I'll start a higher intensity program

My food is Low Carb to help my Diabetes. I went through a long period of Diabetes Management Burnout (yes, there is such a thing) so I'm getting my food under control so my metabolic numbers normalize.

Personal Information:
I love to read and play games. I'm still working and am looking forward to retiring although I haven't actively set a date for that. I have a houseful of cats that I love -- and for some of us our soul mate is just that -- a house full of cats.
