I want to get back to where I was before...fit and loving life. I want to wake up with energy and feeling like I can tackle the world. I want to wear the styles that I admire, when I want to. I want to fit into the adorable pair of jeans in my closet that is just two sizes too small. I remember when I was a size 8-10 and I want to get back there.

I have struggled with my weight periodically over the years, but it wasnt until the year that I got married that I really put it on. I was eating out a lot and it was a stressful time; before I knew it I had put on a good forty pounds. I will never forget the agony of trying to pack for a honeymoon and finding out that a lot of my clothes either didnt fit or were super tight. After marriage there was an intense schedule of settling in to a completely new town and taking on raising two step-daughters. It was a happy time, but also a very stressful time.
I didnt realize how far I had fallen in taking care of myself until I was preparing to accompany my husband on a business trip the next spring and he got together with one of our daughters and told me that I needed to buy some new clothes in order to dress appropriately for an executives wife. It was then that I realized how far from what I wanted to look like that I was. Without realizing it I had slipped into a wardrobe of too-tight pants and jeans and t-shirts. The shopping trip that followed was torture as I tried on outfit after outfit that didnt fit.
That was four years ago. I have made strides toward a better wardrobe (I finally accepted a larger size and bought new clothes) but my figure has always been a frustration to me. And I have endured a lot of ridicule from my size 2 daughter. I will never forget the day she walked into the bathroom to see me in a swimsuit and blurted out in disgust Gross. Needless to say that hurt. And there have been many other similar experiences since that time. There have been times when it motivated me and other times when it just made me want to give up. It has seemed that even when I did try, nothing really did the trick to achieve weight loss. I lost a little weight when I started working at a coffee shop, but quickly gained it back when I switched to a desk job.
Now I am starting again, this time focusing on achieving what I want, just for me! Every time I am tempted to skip a workout, I remember what MY goals are! I remind myself how good it feels when I am in control of what I am eating and what I am doing to fill my time. I am working on achieving a fitness level that truly makes me feel energized and amazing! Ready to tackle anything and everything! I am working to make food my friend and not my slave master. Its a daily battle, but a battle I know I can win! I am looking forward to slipping into a size 12 jeans.or maybe even a size 10.
I know that my girls are watching my example, so I am determined to set a good example. Not only in my size, but in how I achieve it. I dont want them to pick up on an obsession with personal appearance, but instead a healthy way to live. And some day I hope to have a child of my own. Maybe losing weight will somehow make it easier to get pregnant. Who knows? It cant hurt.
I am also working to get my life organized and de-cluttered in other areas as well. The old dishes and dcor items that I inherited from my husbands ex, out they go!! They just hurt me every time I look at them, so why keep something that doesnt make me happy. My home should be a place of peace and relaxation! It should be filled with things that make me smile! Somehow I think that it all fits together; weight, exercise, healthy eating and living and maintaining an organized life in every area.

Treatment for now is muscle relaxers and steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. If the pain doesn't go away, I may need a series of nerve block shots until the nerves heal.
